The fault was my fault really. As i did it up to what i thought was enough, by feel really. When it clearly wasn't.As done to what the book says i could barely turn it.
For me the worse bit was the damage to the rack removing it twice.
What was not the gear box?
car looks awesome as always mate, glad u found the steering problem.
You mentioned the gearbox was in question over how the car was pulling across lanes & replaced it with another F28?

Ah sorry. It turned out that the lower arm bolts had worked loose. So when cornering the ball out could move by a few mm. But a few mm is a hell of a lot of movement. Making the car just vear off course.
The gearbox was swapped as it was crunching in and out of 2nd.

The bolts are almost impossible to remove. They are very soft bolts. So will just round off with minimal pressure. Drilling them out is the best way from the start.
Whoa; so not even the rack was causing that veering, ok makes sense now it was lower wishbone related
Nope.
If you loosen the ball joint bolts, the whole thing can move about 20mm... That's alot on a wheel, even move as you turn in a corner!
New rack is nice as i replaced everything i could. The only steering arms were knackered!
Bottom balljoint bolts are a bugger for loosening off, definitely one to double nut or nylock.
