Benn, you even sprayed the rod ends... You make me want to do my Michalak all over again :thumb:
Yea, the finish wasnt great and time have time to chrome them.. I know only a bit of them is seen, but want right..
One thing i was never happy about with my seats, is the fact that who ever re trimmed them had cut holes on the insides of them for the pulls (to flip the seat forward)
Which these seats dont have... I've tried a few things but never been happy with them.

Will get better pics when the cars out of the garage.
Cracking idea you had there Ben !
Cheers Kev, good thing is cause the way the seats are made. The have the holes both sides, so the trim still clips in proper.
Nice little touch benn. :thumb:
Thanks Bruce.
A while back i stripped a spare rack i had, i've polished my rack before but it dulls very quick as it's very hard to clean. So this time i had it chromed.
With it all apart i wanted to get all new bits, new rack arms and ball joints and bearing. Plus new boots.
Today was finally time to rebuild it, but sadly with no new bearing.
This is the shaft the bearing sits on.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...psh3miygep.jpg
I took it the bearing would press over over the gear bits. But no.
As you can see here there is a big lip that side, i found this after breaking the bearing with the press then cutting the last bit of race off.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pspimro8j1.jpg
So it must press off from the other side, That bit must press off.. If it does i couldn't get it to move. Ended up just damaging it. Alot. So i've had to leave the bearing on and just re-grease it. :( (was no play in it so should be ok)
Dirty job, but my own fault as i used to much grease.

Built up. The chroming isnt perfect due to all the shapes to get blow from. but it will do.

Use these nice polished stainless jubliee clips on the bigger side of the boots.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...pswa4ekd1o.jpg
Didn't have the same for the small one tho :( so used polished GM ones.

Boot wise i wanted the hard style plastic ones. Which i couldn't find anywhere, only the soft floppy rubber ones.. Don't like them.
So i set out to use the ones from the rack before...
Before.
