Ultimately we can't pinpoint the failure, it was either a piston broke, rod little end let go or valve dropped which led to the first two in succession.
I can't complain, it's suffered 4 years of abuse and I've never had it out for a freshen up.
New engine will require yearly top and tailing (depending on use)
And the moral of the story is, use proper components, I've got a steel Arrow crank, Steel Arrow rods and we'll be using Omega pistons and Rec valves, all solid properly made stuff.

First minor adjustment.
We noticed on the dyno when shifting on WOT sparks appeared to come out of the alternator. Got the alternator out and upon closer investigation I found the pulley had been rubbing the chassis leg.

Got the pulley off and fired up the lathe to adjust the pulley, just machined the outer edge off it as it's not really needed

Had to shorten the end of the shaft out of the alternator too

Plenty of space there now

I think the final solution will be a 4th engine mount to stop the movement. I'll discuss this with Ben and see what we can come up with.
