what brake disc did you end up using and what size?
was they correct centre bore?
Its a Vag fitment disk. The center bore was 5mm out. The hubs have a thicker bit on the inner part. It had to be turned down.
Disk is a 280mm like the ones that come in the kit.
Nice job on the brakes. I love your car!
:) Thank you Sir.
Need some longer bolts.. Ggrrr i cant find any.
Awesome mate. Keep raising that bar!
Thank you :) I try.
Small up date.
Big big thanks to my dad and Dan.
My Dad got me the longer bolts i needed for the brakes, they came today. So had a bit of a dash on to get everything on and working so i can go on the rollers tomoz..
Gonna get some better spacers made up as at the mo i have two thick washers in there. But got everything up and sorted.
Then Dan popped over and gave me a hand bleeding the brakes up.. Not that easy getting to the bleed nipples on these Wilwood calipar's tho. After a bit of messing about got that sorted and took it for a test drive.
They work much much better than the 284mm. I need to remove the travel out of the pedal a bit tho...
i have the same problem with the pedal think im going to try upgrading the mastercylinder
i have something for you benn

All Nova master cylinders are the same so you would need one off a bigger Vauxhall that ran bigger brakes to start with.
The Nova one isn't big enough bore so takes more pressure to move enough fluid, hence the long pedal.
Cav one wont just bolt on, the pins are offset on ever other mc i've seen.. Bar a Nova.
Went on the Rollers this morning...
Made 208 brake (std power so happy with that) but at down on toqure, the op said it was a bit laggie and might be better on a mbc...
Its obviously an old engine too tho mate so i'd be pleased with that.
Now uve got man size brakes its time for some phase 2 chips - that'll sort ur low torque problem ;)
lol eds fase 3, or a vmaxx evo310 setup ;)
Phase 2 FTW!
Then some spare gearboxes!
if your on an f20 then i would stock some spare if your upping the power!:thumb:
208 is respectable for 100k mile std engine!!!!
haven't forgotten the sealer dude, just been busy.
I'd be pleased with 208 too!
Benn, didn't R1CH run a bigger mc and servo on hs let? possibly from a cav?
edit, yep.http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...a/DSC00928.jpg
Sounds like a good result that Benn. If I get that much from my LET I'd be happy.
John, Rich had to cut and weld the bar bit that sticks out the back you push in..
I am happy with the power, very really, only a bit of smoke on over run.. But am 30lbs down i'd like back...
there is this thing with an carlton 3.0 servo and a astra mk2 GTE cilinder.
that seems to be a great combo and fits almost directly.
if you want i'll dig up the guy's thread.
Do it!
Early mk2 Astra gte's without abs are ment to be a direct fit. But i got one and it wasn't.. But i cant be sure it was right..
carlton/omega dual chamber servo with a astra mk2 gte master cilinder.
to be exact, a servo from an omega A 3000, with the early astra mk2 gte (no abs) cilinder.
but that had a bit to much power on the rear on a brake test computer.
other setup is the full Lucas setup from an omega B. but that has abs, so you need to place an extra splitter for the front and an adjuster and splitter for the rears.
Looking good dude well done on the rollers!
Christ some one did some work, i adjusted the pedal to day, remove a turn of travel. Brakes are much much better now.Quote:
