No mate, the cement stuff isn't rtv. It doesn't smell of vinegar (lol) it's the stuff used to glue sumps on, when there is no gasket. ie steel pan to alloy block etc.Quote:

It dont look pretty, but it's worked, i had small leaks all about the sump even after i replaced mine and put the short bolts in, and then i got small leaks from the cooler pipes and a bit at the back of the filter too, so i just got pissed off and smeared the sealant ALL over and joint! lolQuote:

Interior looking good Benn, needs another seat switch on the drivers side though lol
Cheers Novalovingned.
Scott, they are blue sr visors, you can only see the blue with the flash on. If you look at them, you cant only see the patten not the colour.
Spud, the center bit isn't in all the way. As i wasn't sure which way the window switches pluged in.. Took a guess and got it wrong. Have both buttons don't worry.
Really don't like the way it drives with the front raised up. Its really light and doesn't feel connected to the road right. Spun it up big time in 2nd and 3rd while playing with a new turbo Vw Scirocco.. Which was surprisingly fast.
It is possible to alter grip levels with ride heights, as you say raising it tips the grip the other way, I'm not sure of the exact mechanics or whether it's purely because you're effectively tipping the CoG a few mm/cm back!
Either way i don't like it!
Gonna wind then right down after the RR day.
Benn... how is your roof lining secured in place? Have you just retrimmed the lining in the same way it left the factory (held up by metal support bars) or have you directly stuck it to the roof skin and contoured it around the beams?Quote:

Its a copy of the std one, so the bars hold it up. Then i've used spray glue on the edges where it holds around under the door rubber.
Mine has a sunroof so it couldn't be stuck to the roof.
Right gotcha. I was actually thinking about sticking mine to the skin and moulding it around the roof beams. Help to lose a bit of weight and probably be easier to clean. Mine has a sunroof too. I'd have thought some carefull trimming would sort that out.
If you didnt have a sunroof then yes you could just stick it straight to the roof.
Weight saving? It weights about 2pounds... The sunroof cassette is about 15kgs...
The sunroof cassette is foam covered, so glueing on that would be a ****. then you'd have to builds the sides up to meet the center too..
Sorry man, forgot to add that my sunroof is different though not a factory GM one :tard: . Mine was an aftermarket Solarsport sunroof jobbie. When you take the lining off you can see the full roof skin as you would with a non-sunroof car. But obviously there's a whole filled up by a sunroof.
Ah then yeah you could stick it straight to the roof, and shape it by hand over the lumps and bits.
Over the past years, I've been doing quite a few motorbike engine overhauls. Same problem with leaky sumps (yes even on Jap bikes). Most people try to overcome this using lots of cheapo silicone sealant or comparable stuff and doing up the sump bolts to the point where they nearly break. Doesn't always work.Quote:

Hope this helps,

looking good matey i think the car bra looks well also!!
Cheers for the info.Quote:

A big thank you to Dan for his help mocking everything up and a trail fitting on his GTE.
Now an even bigger thanks to Pete. Who spent this afternoon doing some machining for me.
So i turned up at Pete's house/Garage with all this..
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8824.jpg
Pete started off getting the hubs stripped down.. Ooo look at this size of his spanner.. lol
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8839.jpg
Bearing removal thingie.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8825.jpg
Needed a bit more grip.. Carefully does it!
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8827.jpg
Now on to the fun bit.. Lathing.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8830.jpg
The outer of the hub needed about 2mm shaving off and about 4mm from the center (to make it all the size side, no step)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8835.jpg
Got my new disk to test fit.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8828.jpg
Looks like the kittie. As the disk is for Vag car it's got a few holes, lucky it lines up with the 5stud hub :)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8838.jpg
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8840.jpg
Bit of mocking up..
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8841.jpg
Oooooooo hello!
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8842.jpg
Bit of a gap on the rear..
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8844.jpg
Bit its a nice fit on the front :)
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8845.jpg
Shame you cant see the name tho.. New wheels would sort that tho... ;) lol
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8846.jpg
With that sorted, i know what i need to buy to finish(a small spacer and 10mm longer bolts)
Pete pressed the other hub and bearing out.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8848.jpg
Inner of the hub thats turned down to fit the Nova bearing.. All perfect after 5k of abuse.
http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y23...n/IMG_8850.jpg
Screw buying disks from Rally Design.
Once again a huge thanks to Pete (pitstoppete)
Looking good Benn, No recent pics of Pete's Cav?
cracking results mate, why not buy some studs and nuts would make things much easier !
