But saying that most people (southern/northern) off here would not be able to understand a person from the black country/Dudley area, it took me a while, they speak quick, quite and shorten things into there own slang lol

lol thats not true, i used with a girl from dudely and i got everything she said.
Ah she was not a real black country girl then! lol
ANY WAY WERE SPAMMING HIS WIP lol
lol no? And funk it hes not here to stop us...lol
I didn't understand a word you two just said. He will clean it up when him comes back on anyway. lol
Any updates Adam. :D
Oi, cheeky f**kers taking the piss out my Stokey ways :D lol lol
Aye, had a nice week away from things.
Baxter, it aint a big blocks fault that the gearlinkage clamp bolt was shagged is it? lol lol lol
Have to say a huggeeee thanks to Benn for the lending of tools, and the bolt/nut. Ernie, setting the linkage on your own is a bit difficult!!! As the stick just moves as soon as you start to tighten the bolt lol
Gears absolutely spot on now, had a nice 235mile drive home today without any probs.
So yeah, thats pv been and gone, put around 700miles on the nova, plenty of pics of mine around the forum, and this vid from CoolTiger
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQp3nryQSiU
Best 1/4 run i managed was 14.4 @ 99.4mph, not bad tbh. Still had a tent etc in the back of the car too lol
And i dont talk funny :( lol
Only messing mate and glad you got it all sorted.
After picking up some shorter rear springs at PV, i got them fitted after work tonight. The old springs are 10" length, and the new are only 7", 400lb rate (a bit stiff but i'll give them a try)
The rear now sits spot on and exactly how i want it, but i have half an inch of damper movement before its on the bumpstops, so its going to handle like a right crock :(
Yet again, if you want low, dont get Avo's. Id say its about 70mil down, so not low compared to some...... but i already have pretty much zero suspension travel.
Think im going to have to get another set of adjuster platforms, get them fitted to raise the springs up for road/track, or swap back to a normal spring/shock setup.
Got some pics but there on my cam which is at my dads, so pics later.
so ad, changing to shorter springs can yeld some more shocker travel..??
Bin the bump stops?
Linkage still ok?
Half inch might be enough with the higher poundage springs? They sound quite stiff compared to what people usually seem to run (200lb ish?)
200? Pfft pussys.
adam dont be a girl, just weld some poles in for suspension sorted :p
People "in the know" say run higher poundage rear springs than fronts, to keep weight from transferring from the front end to the rear when accelerating etc, increasing front end traction :thumb:Quote:

I'll see how they go. Might just cut the rear bumpstops off as Benn said? That'll give inch and half more travel, hmmm
And linkage is still spot on, never touching it again  lol
Baxter, it aint a drag car.
Peester-Shorter springs=less travel
Shorter springs at the same ride height = the same travel surely? It would be the spring platforms that move

Don't quote me on this as i can not remember, but i think mine had 10" 175lb springs and now runs 8" 200lb springs, if you have the longer spring you cant lower it much, but when you have the shorter one you have to make sure your wheels don't catch on the platforms etc.
My Gaz rears are 10" and 175lb and the car is really low and could go another 3 turns before the collar is at the bottom.
My Avo's sat on the bumpstops as the shocker bodies were too long, had no way of making them work so swapped back to shortened shocks and 80mm springs till I got the Gaz ones.
Scott, thats right mate, i phoned Avo today.
My adjusters are seized solid, so where it sits is where it'll stay.... lol
Went and cut the bumpstops completely off earlier on lol
Got a few inches of travel now so i'll see how that is, i like how it sits
Rear end is stiff as fook and barely moves when you press down on it, thats 400lb springs for you lol
Lee-Aye, it you want "show" low, they dont use Avo's, unless you want them permanently bottomed out.
Few pics:

Compared to the old height:

That is all for now :)
Ride height looks cool.
Does need slamming.
I'd cut the bump stops, i havent got any at all in the rears, well theres a polly bush like washer.
Glad the linkage is still ok.
I now have no bumpstops at all, front or rear.
Dont want to drop the rear anymore, as i need SOME travel to keep it driveable.
It looks a load better than at its old height though imo :)
Thats really strange though, can you get different shock lengths? as my rear Avo's use to be quite low on my old one.
This is with the old 10" springs.

Looks better though mate.
Scott
I thought all the shock lengths were the same? not sure.
I could (if they werent seized) wind the adjuster down another inch or two, but it would be well bottomed out by then
New rear ride height looks better :) How does it drive on the 400s?
No idea, aint drove it yet lol
Will take it out one night this week if i aint busy
Found some time today to actually get the nova out.
And as expected the rear is now much much stiffer, almost too stiff for road use imo (bumpy lanes are "fun" to say the least). But its perfectly driveable, sits much better too.
Handling seems spot on, rear end seems well planted and didnt feel like it was about "to let go"
So im happy :)
Exhaust now rubs when getting the car off my parents drive :( lol
cool
Aye, will pretty much stay as it is now for Billing.
Shame i dont have the time/money to have the pass rear arch done as thats the only thing that lets the shell down.
Still got a full cage sitting in my old bedroom lol lol
you going to bring it tomoz?
If im out of work in time yeah.
Going take me about an hour get there though too :)
Right, Billings been and gone so time to take things apart again lol
Few of my favourite pics from Billing-

So its now time to strip it further and get the SD cage in :)
Also tempted to do a cav shifter setup.
Stripped and started to remove sound deadening. Ive removed the front sections which came up pretty easily, but the rear bits are being a right t**t, so i may end up being lazy and just painting over them.
All the floor to the b-pillar/front inner wheel arch is going to be sprayed black.

More when i get time!!! Need to get the cage in and mark out the feet to get some spreader plates cut :)
You will regret painting over them. I did it on my red one.
So will you have no capet then?
Gareth-90% of the bits that are being a f**ker to remove are under the front seats, so hoping it wont look w4nk as you shouldnt see much of it.
Benn-Nope, just going sand the floor down, primer it, and paint it. Might try some matt black stonechip as its quite hard wearing. Im leaving the rear floor/wheel well etc car coloured.
If i dont like the look of it i'll put the carpet back in.... lol
Getting a alloy passenger foot rest too :)
Ad, tried warming it up a little with a heat gun?
If your gonna do it paint it all green, then find some skate board grip tape for under your feet for grip.
Did it have split rear seats?? Thought it was only the gsi/gte/sr that had split seats. You gonna remove all the brackets etc?
Looking good, annoyed i didnt make pvs or billing!
Good work Adam:thumb:
you going to Trax:)
