Only if you agree that you are giving up on your business because its moving slow, and that going on the dole is a better option.
Times are hard for a lot of people, but giving up isnt the answer.

I'm a courier. Same day/overnight, on call etc. This has been declining since around november, everyone has noticed it. It just appears that some of us have had the decline hit harder than others, I'm the third person to have seriously considered moving due to the lack of work. And I'm not the hardest hit either :/
Ive been sleeping **** for ages with all the crap Ive been getting from work, now I'm suspended its even worse, last night i sat bolt upright and started shaking my bird to wake her up and started talking gibberish to her, apparently my eyes were all glazed over and i defiantly wasn't awake!
no wonder i keep waking up feeling so tired all the time, shame i dont sleepwalk over to my nova and get it finished :tard:
Hobbit that's not your car...
This is lol

get a job offshore, if you like hard work, not afraid of heights, are a little bit fit and know the basics on a computer then try being a NDT technician, lots of work although getting a start is a bit hard, after a year or so you can go anywhere and get decent cash, you need to pay for courses which could total 3K or so, also you do all the studying while you work, i took a job from driving a digger into security (best on nightshift) so i could study then took time off to do exams here and there, everyone said your wasting your money etc but now with a good monthly wage they say well done, you've gotta be brave and go for it, end of the day i looked at it as if its 4k down the drain which i didnt think it would be then funk it, least i tried and tbh i would not of given up anyone, sice being offshore been offered 4/5 jobs doing different jobs by various companys all with good cash so i will never be stuck again imo, but i got it because I took the plunge, do it dont look back and stay positive.. good luck
Read back what he said, he didnt call you a loser, he merely offered a comment to try and spur you on, its all too easy to give up and say meh, its not working.
Go out flyering, go into places like offices and such trying to rep, drum up work, it sounds stupid but it works (sometimes) hell, i saw a story on the news a couple of years back where a bloke wrote a sign saying something like 'Please give me a job' and he went out and stood on a busy intersection roundabout all day holding the sign up to passing cars, one day it was hammering it down with rain all day, yet he was still there, soaked through to the skin, a company director drove by in his car (merc or something nice) and spotted him, went back and offered him a trial in his warehouse packing!
He was on the news saying it had impressed him that despite the torrential rain, the guy hadnt gone home to sulk in front of Jermey Phayle moaning that there was no work, he went out and did something that got him noticed, you just need to find something that gets you noticed!
It wasnt the point that he ended up with a warehouse job, that was just for the trail as he mightve been a complete spoon, but the guy was willing to give him a chance is the point, and i know of people that have had zero luck at the job center, ive had the misfortune to have had to go and sign on once before, was the most heart breaking thing ive ever done, was out of work for about seven months, was three months before id sunk low enough to give in and sign on!
Ill never ever sign on again!
use to hate signing on, when you would see family's there all lining up like its a family day out, scum.
I moved 100 miles away so my partner could live with her family, whick ment giving up my jobs aswell as alot of other things but i regesterd with a agency and 2 weeks later im working 50+ hours a week on a good wage and after 13 weeks on the same job i will be taken on so all these people who claim they cant find a job just need to stop being picky and apply for any job
Nail + Hammer + Head!!!
Ive done some right crap jobs, worked in a wood yard, a supermarket, hell even a couple of years back i had to take a second job working in a takeaway i used to work in as my hours got cut to two and a half days, only just got out of there again (thankfully lol) but ill work anything to keep out of the flea pit that was our local job center!
I went from being a supervisor running a yard with people underneath me to a bin man, ive done pizza delivery, various warehouse work manual labouer telesales and security
and i bet you hated telesales the most......
there is a strange phenomenon caused by the introduction of the welfare state (what got churchill voted out after ww2)
people now sit at home unemployed, when there are jobs elsewhere.
before ww2, people would routinely travel where the work was, and if, for example, there was no work in glasgow, people moved to leicestershire to work in the coal mines, in the 20's & 30's welsh people moved to oxford to make cars.
but now, people can be unemployed in their home town, when as little as 10 miles away, there are hundreds of jobs. we have a huge warehouse place called magna park, 10 miles down the road, and it is almost completely staffed by recent eu immigrants. they do big hours to earn the money, but the local long term unemployed don't want to travel to do the work.
over the centuries, massive populations have migrated to where the work is, yet in the last 50 years, the uk, which i believe invented the dole, seems to have forgotten how to do it.
i have all the respect in the world for anyone who will do whatever it takes to find a job, but none for someone who expects the job to find them
I drive 30 miles a day to go to work (in my nova woop) and it pisses me off when people wont travel more than 5 miles
Tbh the dole office dont care aslong as they see that you have written out 9 acts of searching for work a week. The 1st time i endend up on the dole they were helpfull and would give evelopes and stamps out even send you on a course to make yourself more employable now since cameron has taken over there is no such thing as a jobcentre its now called the department for work and pentions (look at the advisors name tag) and you have to use the online service as the job points are out of commision now so in on sence there are lazy idle w@nkers out there who cant be arsed but the goverment are maki g it harder aswell
fook that!! would have to work over 2 hours to pay for the bus ride if all i find is a minimum wage job lol
I'm the first one to moan about job shy lazy sods but after Jack moved to Brizzle Last June, I've struggled to even get interviews for jobs to go join him.
Its easy to say, just apply for anything but we couldnt afford for me to work in a sweet shop or something so I cant go for any old job
Ive only last week managed to get an interview for Avon & Somerset police for a Dispatcher position...the same job I've been doing for 8 years but for Dorset Police..and they are interviewing about 30 ish people and chances are I wont get it. mad. sad. Fcuking annoying.:cry::mad:
there are still 35 jobs with in 2 miles of my house, if someone cant walk 2 miles to work i wouldnt hire them lol
when my missus & i decided to live together, we made a pact, she was living in oxford, training to be a nurse, and i was in leicestershire selling tractor bits... we both looked for work in each other's area. after 6 months, i got the job & moved. 5 years later we moved back to leics, but life has always been like that with me.
keep the faith, something will turn up, either that or you could chuck him !!! lol lol lol
Jack tried to get a job in Dorset but couldnt get anything before his move date. Plus he gets paid more than me so we made a decision that I would make the sacrifice and move up there...
Finding a job is a job in itself. I have about 20 websites that I check daily...it can get quite dishearting so I'll think about your suggestion to chuck him. lol
i had the misfortune of encountering an ex coal miner. he'd never had a job from the day they shut the pit (in the 80's) they'd tried to put him on all sorts of schemes, but there was always an excuse, he'd never learnt to drive, cos he lived 100yds from the pit head, so he'd use the lack of a bus as a reason, or he hadn't got the right equipment to go on the job etc... basically, he'd not bothered at school cos he was always going down pit, and he is now retirement age, having only ever worked in one place...he & i never got on...
true, the temp jobs im lookig at right now would leave me with a spare 100-to-150 quid a month max! but thats only becuase my bird pays for bills aswell
and not to forget some of that 100 quid a month would more then likely go on travel etc etc.. so in reality i would have 10 odd quid after a months work :tard: i hope i get this npower job!
i dont own a push bike and whats the chances of buying a 2nd hand one! when spud is stock piling them all!!!
lol
The only people who are better off on the dole are foreigners which is a fact, ive got 2 kids and when i wasnt working i didnt qualify for any sort of help for the rent or council tax because my partner worked 20 hours a week, now when i was driving for dominoes there was a polish manager who was getting help with his rent and council tax when he was earning 19k a year and complained that he wasnt getting it all payed wtf!!!!
