I would but i don't wan't to fit them myself and my uncle wants like 80 quid to do them at his garage lol...
So much for helping out ya family lol.
He probably wants the ?80 to have to put up with you for the day! :p
Springs are a piece of wee to fit, even I could do them.... so they must be easy :D
And don't bother with GSi badges on a non-GSi, you'll just make yourself look daft when people expect it to be fast lol
And i should care what other people think?
Their is loads of GSi reps either with or without the 1.6 engine so i don't see why it should matter if i want it to be a GSi rep.
You should do it a GSi rep without the GSi badges...
Update**
Didn't end up at college today instead i ended up working on the car again.
1st of all re routed the wires for the sub so that it was all neat. Did want the sub to 1 side but the earth wire i got wasn't long enough so had to put it in the middle of boot.
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01331.jpg
Then it was off to BMS for some primer and sand paper and start rubbing down the arches again... Looks a bit messy atm...
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01333.jpg
Then primerd and decided to spray a bit to see what it was like and it matches ''ok'' i suppose lol... but tomorrow when i take the masking off i reckon it will be a mess and i'm going to prob need the whole arch doing.:(
That's the part that got sprayed.

Leave comments please .. thanks.
Looks better than rust I must say lol - Same kinda job I done on mines
How would it be a GSi rep then?Quote:

Just popped out to garage and decided to unmask some of the fresh paint i sprayed on and it is pretty clos in the light i was just in...
Now i need to blend the colours together because when i primered it i masked it off so now i' left with a white line around it!!
What's best to blend it in? a buffer and wax?
PIC*** http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01335.jpg
Try t-cutting over the edge and if it looks good polish it up. When I did my rear arches I just masked the door/lights/rear window and blended the paint in with the existing paint so it was less noticeable.
Yeah was thinking of just re spraying the whole arch but it takes ages to get down to metal i would need one of the propper grinder things.
IMO... Don't attempt to spray the entire rear quarter with rattle cans... Just lightly sand it back with fine wet+dry and give it another coat over the arch and where you can see the edge to blend it a little.
There's more to a GSi than the bumpers and stickers :roll:Quote:

Anyways small update.
Got a GSi boot vinyl incase i do go the whole way and GSi it.
And 1 arch sorted and 1 to go :p
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01424.jpg
Got on with the panel next to the arch near the door today on 1 side.
Added filler and started to sand down...
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01438.jpg
And more sanding down...
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01439.jpg
Sprayed the primer on and got half way through wet and drying the un-even bits when i realised my fingers were numb so put it away till tomorrow!!
http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...w/DSC01441.jpg
oh my god thats fecking horrible lol sorry but it must be said
i know i said the same, doesnt look right does it
Aye the lip isn't right at all and you can see where you've fillered the side too. Crack out the wet+dry and sort it. lol
As Iainel said, may take tim but will look 100% better:thumb:Quote:

How not to repair your arch
terrible filling!
Did i say it was finished?
It's a bit hard to use masking tape when i don't have any and i wasn't walking to the shop seeing as though i am literally skint.
Also the arches are f(_)cked anyway and allways have been.
If anybody wants to pay out for a new arch for me and do it for me then be my guest.
Lastly it's a nova not a brand new car so tbh aslong as rust isn't showing i don't really care.
1 more thing... the reason why their is loads of filer is because of some tw4t before me had put replacement sheets of metal that had bent outwards and you couldn't see them untill i pulled off the rub strips so that needed bending in and then loads of filler just to try and smooth it over.
NovaLad16,please read what you have put,you sound a complete tw*t,if its only a nova go with your chavvy freind and buy a saxo,Quote:

I post pictures in a WIP thread of some work on the nova and i get stupid comments on it, WIP is WORK IN PROGRESS.
I allready stated that the work on the side would commence the following day and that it wasn't finished so why are people having a digg.
I am only 17 and don't have much money atm at all for the project and what do you expect me to do, buy a new arch and get it sprayed up properly.
And your the disgrace you only joined 3 days ago and your allready thinking you know people and pissing people off.
Thats fooking uncalled for tbhQuote:

good pic mate , but novalad stop takeing a huff theese lads are going helping you they are telling you its terrable so you will correct it , if we told you it was a good job we would be lieing , take it to bed not to the heart , keep the chin up and work away , its your car no-one elses so frankly if you make a bollox of it i don't care just dont have tantrums . Nath
How can people tell me it's terrible when i hadn't finished the job :| And still havn't finished it.
That's like me saying to someone who has posted pics of their car half rubbed down that it looks terrible when the job isn't finished so how can you comment on their work when it isn't finished?
I know what i am doing as a guy i know used to work in a body shop prepping and spraying cars so he has been pointing me in the right direction it just takes time.
It was primered at that point so i could see the imperfections and rub them down more.
Yes the arch lip is fooked but i can't help that tbh i tried bending it back into place and it just cracks and i end up with more filler on the car.
take your time mate and it will be ace , wots the plans with the car now mate after you get this work done , youve actually give me some insperation to get my **** in gear and get on with my car , but its monday tomorrow and i will never get time to do it , and liveing in ireland its just constant rain lol , besides that mate keep it up .
Err well if the weather would stop being an **** then it would have been finished on 1 side by now...
Basicly the arches have been holding me back from the start a soon as they are done and the side panels it's getting lowered and the skirts will be on...
I have everything waiting just can't do anything till arches and panels are sorted.
Nice Project mate.

You need a rasp on that filler work on the 2nd wheel arch. failing that some low grit paper & work it back until you get the factory line back in the arch.
Wet & dry paper for use after the paint will be 1200 or 1800 grit, use it wet & you'll be amazed how smooth it makes the finish.
Best money you could spend at this stage would be a HAYNES bodywork manual.
Cheers for the no how and i allready have a haynes manual pal.
Ok got on with sorting out the line that was left from the spraying up etc.. by rubbing it down with plenty of T-Cut till it was smooth as a babies bum lol...
Then realised i have ran out of spray and it's windy anyway so i will leave the rest till tomorrow and this is what it looks like right now :) i am pleased with the outcome...
You can just see the line if you look closely where it wil be getting sprayed.
that's 1 side nearly done :)
Comments please!
