any reasons why you're painting it in bits rather than preppin/primering then spraying in one hit?
good work btw, have some rep ;)
because of space and time + weather, materials etc just works out better for me (i.e house, child, bird + lack of work, no money list goes on lol) should of done shell first then built up but gonna finish front end now throw a sheet over then blow in rest. its only the roof and quater panels anyway.Quote:

Looking good mate :thumb:
Looking good mate ! have you painted all the bit's outside so far ? whats the finish like ? looking good on the whole ! nice little car and good work, keep it up.
pretty much........ done both bumpers, grille, passenger wing, and drivers door. tailgate had to much dirt and passenger door got wet in the rain lol so will need blowing over again, both are sanded down ready for paint again. the finish is brilliant espesially the bumpers. only couple minor bits of dirt at the surface of the paint but will flat out and polish perfect. ;)Quote:

started masking the shell up now, so once the wing is ready for a bit of primer ill do the rear arch to....................then paint :)
looking well mate, but i thought when you where spraying you have to spray the panels the way the would sit on the car instead of the panels lying on there flat, gives you a better finish
/\ ??? where'd you get that idea ?? your more likely to get runs when it's vertical so yeh if you class runs as a good finish then spot on yeh !! lol. Pillar, the paint looks to have come out very nicley considering, and think how much money you've saved yourself hey, you say it was just e-bay 2 pack yeh ? what compressor and gun you using etc... nice to see this as i was considering if i could get a good enough finish doing my paintjob diy but i've now decided that i'll do it myself after seeing your project, looking forward to seeing the whole car once it's all painted up ! brill !!
you get a different shade of paint when the panels are on there flat, my dads a sprayer and he had told me that panels need to be sprayed the way they would be placed on the car, you dont get runs if the paint is put on layer by layer
Doesnt matter how the pannel are painted, and trust me you can get a run in paint at anytime by putting it on to thick.
jcb 25lt compressor from focus diy mate £25, gravity fed spray gun ebay £12 just cheap and chearful but it does the job :thumb:Quote:
