Going to see aboout removing the engine now, update you soon.
+rep for cracking on.
Lets see this nova finished in no time :thumb:
Looks clean enough mate :)
i dont want to be the barer of more bad news but this engine never ran right from the day it was built. the cams are masive and imo dont work along with the throtle bodies and the exhaust manifold should be bined. that retard should be shot for selling you that engine.
great work dude, keep it up
and that is one mega clean battery tray
must be a ecu that needs remapping.Quote:

Or youll have contact issues.
he throttle boddies, arent really propper boddies, but then again, I suppose they are sort of.
However, I maybe inclined, to build it all up stock, with a stock inlet, check it runs etc, then put the bits on one at a time.
Would a pair of standard XE cams make it run better? And the " throttle bodies " are ment to be a direct replacement for standard to a standard ecu would be fine then?
offcourse not.
with cam's and this inlet, you need a decent dyno remapp.
what are the specs of the cams?
no ebay 50 quid chips.
Standard cams and the inlet would give a reasonable ish running engine though, tbh I'd get rid of the Dbilas bodies and get milder cams though, unless you want to go to aftermarket management, and then I'd get rid of the Dbilas bodies and keep the mad camsQuote:

Pretty sure its not standered pistons that are in the engine anyway
tbh this is all new to me so a dont really understand the how these parts affect the running of it, but it doesnt sound good:(
do i sell the engine then?
just put it back to a xe mate
the throtle bodies were ment to be bolted to a stantard xe as a cheep way to get extra power they will be ok to leave on, just swap the cams to standard xe ones and bin that bodged exhaust manifold and it should be ok. the pistons are high comp ones and should be good to use. if i can help in any way give me a call 07766035174 stevie.
If its got high comp pistons, they will have valve cut outs.Quote:

I personally, would do as I saidlol Put it all back to standard, to a very good (wiring plumbing etc) job of converting it, and then add the bits back into the mix.
Or, just run it how it is, but, on standard management, with them pistons/cams/throttleboddies, you will never see the best power.
However its an excellent engine for a base:thumb:
it isnt the ecu bud it is some ppl want the bigest cams available because they think they must be the best but it dont work like that. let new that engine ran like a bag of **** and still robed some one who didnt now any beter whitch to me is realy low.Quote:

fit it, wire it in, and run it.
then with your spare engine, either break it. or work on it, learn with it and add the fancy bits to your engine once you understand the parts etc.
my 2p. id get the head off, check the pistons, if they are std then change the cams for stock ones. if they are pocketed, then the cams will be fine, and you need mappable management. or fit std cams and runa std ecu. the dbilas is designed to be compatible with a stock xe ecu and engine.
Thanks again lads, just took the box off the engine there, gona put a few more pics up in 5mins.
A few new pics

Hope so buddy, mind you this is the easy part lol.
no release bearing? and no clutch ?????????????
or did you take them off?
thats the way it was when a took it off bazil mate
thats why the clutch leaver had no resistance then.
more problems then?
well you kinda need a clutch lol
edit pmd
i know how it works, but i still cant see why cams can be a problem.Quote:
