thats an illegal thing to do and very pointless, the point of this project is to restore the shell to a high standard, a thing that many people don't or can't understand.Quote:

just read through the entire thread mate, fair play to you for taking it on. I know i would have scrapped a shell in that condition but i understand the memories and sentimental value are very important. Good luck with it and will be great if you manage to restore it back to its former glory :) :thumb:
Happens loads with corsa crew round here lol.Quote:

I think so mate, won't be quick build now that's for sure.
nah but by **** it will be worth it, im scraping mine and is alot better condition than yours, just the back chassis legs and spring seats are away
I'll take your shell for spares lol
Get it done Bazil
Will be epic if you got it done
pmd
Just read through the full thread hope you get it done for the sentimental value and memorys:thumb:
+ rep for your positive attitude:thumb:
keep us updated and it will all be worth it in the end;)
You my friend are the cause of this thread :)
if I didn't get that floor from you I would have stripped and binned this shell, but because I got that part it gave me a spark and even though taken me ages I'm slowly getting there with the rest of the panels too.
lol I suppled a important panelQuote:

Look's very nice in pic's back from 99! should look very good when done.
although it looks very bad in pic's and when your tearing panel's off like paper it will suprise you how quick it comes together once you have all the panels make a start and get in to it mate!
you will soon be getting the grinder out lol
time to return the moral support mate, if a can help you out with anythin give me a shout, lol even if its just for sumone to talk to when your workin on it:D
cheers mate, i'll defo give you a shout if i need a hand
anytime mate, just give me a shout:thumb:Quote:

Thanks Paul, I'm going to be off work for 2 weeks soon so hopefully I'll get some progress in my time off :)
You managed to sort the panels you need ? Or cut them out of the other shell?
Or you still looking ?
Picking up some bits at the weekend, but unsure if I'm going to use them on this edd, rear wheelhousings, but on this I've seam welded the original ones and i've got bilstein coilovers that don't fit the standard arch shape so I'm probably going to turrett the rear,
Also going to be removing the rear floor on the donor shell as it's a guide for doing this one so all I need to do is get more spot weld drills lol
I'm still waiting on my quarter panels tho, they might not arrive till November lol but I'm not needing those ATM anyway, they will be the last things to fit along with the rear panel, only a weekend to do those, but I need to do the chassis legs and floor first and take my time,
No rush= no mistakes.
Sounds like you've got it well planned out mate
Rear inner wheelhouses ? You got them off Hartley?
This not finished yet lol It's rotting faster than I'm typing being stood whilst you take your time lol
Did you have to do any welding whilst the engine was out, and did you spray or paint it silver?
Looks niceeeeee.............
if you look a few pages back you'll see it needs mega welding now lol, and it was star silver from the factory :)Quote:

keep it up mate :)
Very cool mate, should go well with that strapped to the engine :)
please keep the intercooler hidden with no bumper hacking :thumb:
thanks for the coments guys
gary i was looking for a kingdom front bumper lol
i'll probably cut into the front valance to save me from cutting the bumper, maybe just open up the back of the lowest scoop on the gsi bumper as that would be roughly where the cooler would sit but defo no hanging out cooler, might also look into a floor mount pedal box to remove the servo and mastercylinder to give space for a charge cooler? but that is waaayyyyyyyyy down the line
ive also noticed im almost ahead of "The Airfix" nova on mig for the amount of panels being replaced lol
Good choice on the turbo kit, had always wanted one for my old gsi.
cheers mate, i might get a second engine to put it on and work away at a special build on its own block, proper job type build rather than gaskets and spacer plates etc
Ahhhh my old turbo kit lol
Make sure you use it, someone needs too lol
Have you got the headgasket spacer ? You'll need that.
When's all the cutting/welding starting then ?
