Its a fabricated manifold that came from tom reid - but he can get fabricated or cast ones now depending on what engine you have. Drop him a PM.Quote:

Only one little hitch, I couldnt put my paddle clutch in because I wasnt aware the flywheel needed skimming - so that will be fitted when I can get a replacement flywheel done.
Have gone from an f13 CR, 3.7 diff, standard clutch and flywheel to a freshened up f13 CR, 4.1 diff + quaife, paddle clutch (when i can fit it) and a superlight flywheel.
Didnt take many pics as I still havent tracked down my camera, think the pixies have had that. Only these to show for now - I will get one of it in the car just for the sake of it later:
Flywheel on:

Box ready to go in:

I know I should have taken some more but everyone knows what a nova on axle stands looks like, also did the lower arm polybushes as everything was accessible.
Well report wise - im impressed! As a package it has completely changed the manner of the car, the drive is much more urgent and the launch from corners is massively improved.
Obviously only played with it for one day but im looking forward to the rain!
Facking hell, how safe is that flywheel??? lol
Within the limits! It was machined by a very reputable race engine builder so I'm confident it will be absolutely fine. :thumb:Quote:

Time for a headgasket - just gone between 3 and 4 and started between 1 and 2, it wasn't terminal failure so it could have been worse and it will get away with a freshen up and a skim.
The head is off and being worked on and I have got a nice little list of things to do before it gets back together:
fit new bigger rad and spal fan,
change starter motor,
cut the fuel resistant hose for the carbs,
reinstall the edis etc in the cabin and hide/reroute the wiring,
clean and paint a few bits,
full service when its back together
- so happy days!
did you find out what was up with up with it then pal
Yeah jus gasket gave up lol -it was still running and not using any oil water or mixing, not overheated either. Jus lack of compression on 3 or 4 lol!Quote:

Cheers chaps - yeah it does sound nice (i think!) ha ha.
Been out and done a bit on it this eve, being as the head is away. Fitted the bigger rad and spal:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01161.jpg
Gives a load more room in the bay - and saves a tiny bit of weight:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01162.jpg
Also decided to lose the bumper bars - have got the front one sorted, just need to tag a couple of captive nuts onto the brackets and can fit that. With the back I just bolted the brackets on as its easy to unbolt the bumper in the car.
Brackets fitted, just used a piece of tube as a spacer:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01158.jpg
And not much to give it away on the outside - just need to touch these up with grey:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01159.jpg
Looking good Al :thumb:
nice work mate loosing abit off weight there aswell!! get the carpet up and all the tar out from underneath if you havent already that weighs quite allot!!!
Just realised I've got no interior pics in this thread! Yeah saved a lot of weight with the tar matting and the seats and belts etc.
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC00590.jpg
loving the lack off interior matey lol!!!
dustbin doorcards required :)
No pics of the back but obviously no seats, spare wheel etc :thumb:Quote:

yeah pretty much! just need to track down some thin 1mm or so black plastic to cut some replacements as im not keen on running with the winder mechanisms etc exposed.Quote:

found a place that sells the 1.5mm black dimpled sheet - just got to measure up accurately and work out whether best to buy the big sheets or ones that just fit - i take it you only want fronts?Quote:

Some tube glued into the bumper for spacing after trimming all the lugs etc off:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01167.jpg
And on the car, don't stand out much really - will touch them with grey if they annoy me. Bumper now removed with two allen bolts on front and two original 10mm on wings:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01171.jpg
And back:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01170.jpg
Also for no other reason than I'd put my pillar drill back in and this was off the car and needed painting anyway:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01169.jpg
Finally the battery is going in the back, so I moved my fuel reg into the vacant space to tidy the bay:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01172.jpg
Also tided some wiring up on this side - fan, reverse switch, horn and earth strap etc:
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i1...a/DSC01173.jpg
The crap and muck everywhere is because I covered the seams with watered down clear waxoyl when they were done - I will get round to cleaning it up..... maybe.
Alternater bracket is....holey
Nice work, front bumper should be mega quick to remove now! You got a box for the battery?
