Picked the shell up late yesterday afternoon. The other bits (grill, mirrors, door handles etc) i will collect today. So happy with it. Being a fussy ****er (and as part of my job i have to be able to spot deforms/blemishes/etc) there are 1 or 2 little things but on the whole just chuffed to have it back and painted. Now the real fun begins!!!
Big thanks to the boys at M4 Bodyshop!!
The other bits...

Im with matt, it does almost look nordic blue, is it just your camera making it look like that or is it a darker shade of breeze blue?

Engine tart up, stage 2 lol. Powercap was blue, but done in Hammerite and against the plug cover was obviously a different shade. So i rubbed it down and painted it silver. Then masked up the plug cover and sanded off the paint, chuffed with the results!

Cant wait to get this bolted in. Fingers crossed will be in the next few weeks.
Not too chuffed about this TBH, but couldnt really be helped. Well could have if i had double checked i had the right bolts lol
Fitting the sunroof assembly back in..

..found out when it was too late the the bolts were the wrong ones!! A mate from work is going to remove the dents and then i can get the roof repainted at a later date. No biggie really, and i managed to not go ape ****. Which my dad was most shocked about lol he was helping me fit the sunroof and took 10 steps back when he realised what had happened!!
Thats it for now. Hopefully, now the evenings are getting lighter i can get a few odd jobs done.
Good progress, refitting just the small items makes it feel like your getting somewhere.
Im sure its been mentioned somewhere, but are you repainting etc the steering rack? I presume you are judging by the rest of the attention to detail.
Shame about the roof, Full roof respray or could it be blended in?
Cheers AW06. Yeah rack is next on the list to be done. ATM the car is in and out if the garage so havent botherd yet. Once it is done i can then fit my new Gaz coilivers and new suspension bits.
Roof will be re painted and blended into the a and c posts.
good work mate. looks mint
First time ive seen this thread, nice one. Shell looks mint now its all painted.
Shame about the mishap with the sunroof bolts, im sure you'll get it sorted though.
Car looks ace bud! im keeping track of it:)
Same for me mate - i havn't noticed it before :roll:Quote:
