hey nick - whats the score with the vss on these ? .. do you just snip the original wire going to the hub sensor, and link it to a 6 pulse gearbox sensor ?
Erm if your talking about the speed sensor on the gearbox I won't be using one, I'll be using an early gearbox that the Speedo cable on the nova will plug into. If that's not what you ment then I'm not sure sorry.
between the cable and the box i mean.

a fair amount of people have done the conversion into various vauxhalls.
but theres next to no info regarding the ecu's speed signal, and im not quite sure how its done myself.
im just assuming it can be done this way, like the 1.4 and 1.6 engines, but im not entirely sure if it uses the same type of system.
without it wired in, the engine will probably stall when the car comes to a stop.
This should be a decent wee motor when it's done, any thoughts on the final drive ratio?
You'll need the speed sensor due to the car needing a signal sending to know the speed, other wise when you come to a stop and dip the clutch these engines have a tendency to stall.
well there has been a few who have done the x16xe conversion someone must be sure what is needed???
Well good news I've been doing some research and it turns out that because my car was a late 1.2 injection model it already has a vss that should be fine to use with the x18xe1
