I am getting excited, just need proper inlet manifold and few more hours work putting things togther and we should be good to go..

Was it only the early GTE cam covers that had 1.6 injection on?

Did you buy the engine minus the webers then?it was a stonker of an engine!lol .Used to always make me smile when i put my foot down and could hear it snorting away:d (until i looked back down at the fuel gauge!,but you carnt have everything!!)

Damn i miss that engine/car:(

adam thats why a got rid great engine but runin cost were unbelievable .i could kill a tenner goin too work and back lol 18 mile lol

My lighlty modded e16se is more gutsy on the juice than my 172 cup but 10 litres of fuel in 18 miles is crazy :d

Nice work on the bay greg, welding looks spot on. Not a massive fan of the red rocker cover and pulley but aslong as your happy. It should be a very nice example when finished :)

lol till my TB's were "set better" my engine in my old GSi use to give me around £20 for 40 miles.. you could watch the needle drop as you kept your foot in, lol you still can now.

engine bay looks im goung to get tore into mine soon.
