*Update time*
Day seven in the big brother chicken shed lol
Been up to get some more strippyness done today, moved her outside to drop the coolant and start pulling the heater box out.....

This is how the battery tray hole started out....

Chassis leg...
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a36...p/DSC03820.jpg
And the state of the inside of the car...
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a36...p/DSC03821.jpg
Back inside and got cracking on removing the engine bay wiring, all pulled through into the car now, and most of the coolant pipes off and the heater box out...

Chassis leg after a bit of bashing and scraping with a big ass screwdriver, is actually solid so i reckon a zippy wheel to take it all back and treat it with rust killer and possibly a bead of weld and it will be good as new...
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a36...p/DSC03825.jpg
Battery tray now the holes have been widened....
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a36...p/DSC03826.jpg
Torchlight from underneath to show the hole...
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a36...p/DSC03829.jpg
And the scuttle now cleared of blower motor and the like, im in two minds on removing the firewall, im tempted to do it but unsure, opinions please....

Plan is next time im up there, is to get myself an engine stand and get the lump dropped out, split from the box and up on a stand so i can start to strip and degrease and clean up the block, my mates suggested removing the sound deadening from the bulkhead as its a fire risk whilst welding and plus i can check for rot along the bulkhead too!
Not as rotten as some. Get some sort of wire wheel on the rust and bring it back to bear metal if you can, then krust or somthing.
You problery know anyway.
Dont fancy selling the blukhead sound deading do you? :p
Ps: removing the blukhead on a road car with the heater etc in place will cause a lot of nasty engine smells to come into the cabin, Its not nice smelling burning oil or anything lol
If you get stuck with the wiring give me a shout :thumb:Quote:

Cheers joff, i should be alright as its a simple chop the wires then the two halves run to the switch, its one of those old plug in 'the immobiliser' things, ive snipped it out just need to rejoin them and run a length into the car as im gonna mount an ignition kill switch, need to source an alarm too while im playing with wires:thumb:
nice work spud,keep it up:thumb:
i wanna see this next year:d
Aye i know those deadings are a pain in the tit to remove but ive been lusting after one for years.
Oh just a point, with the wire wheel, i found a grinder attachment is much better than a drill one due to the speed. Been stripping it all off my shell and its so much easyer with the grinder lol
