Did you manage to get any quotes for it?
One bonus of being an old ******* :d
Great updates mate, glad it's finally got a decent engine to match the exterior! It's great how much you love this car, hopefully that will never change :)
I was going to say that the only thing that lets it down is the engine bay but it looked cleaner in the last pics so maybe you've sorted that. I think this years main change to it would have to be a full GSi interior including black carpets, dash, etc. Then it would be perfect, but there's plenty of time to do things like that :)
Good luck with the insurance.
Tell me more of this corsa throttle cable goodness mr Dave, 'B' or 'C' and from a breakers or from vaux?
If i can source a GSI to break then ill be swapping the interior, same as the engine id want everything there before i do it, no half finished business or missing a trim here or a card there, i was thinking of colour coding the bumpers and getting the GSI tailgate and b-pillar vynal, but yet to decide
Spud as said on the book of many faces, 1.2 16V Corsa B post facelift throttle cable only :thumb:
Whats the point of the 1.2 cable?
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...3-12123313.jpg
^^^^^^^:thumb:
That looks miles better than the normal cable which resembles a lassoo lol
Exactly, here's mine for comparison....
http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a36...s/8c8b0e14.jpg
Whats stopping you routeing the normal one that way?
Its too long to do it, whereas im guessing that one sits nicely like that (or even in the normal routing would look better than a standard xe cable) and has the correct fittings at either end:thumb:
Be careful how you route the cable, if you route it wrong it will stick and cause it to rev its plums off :thumb:
Nice little addition on the throttle cable.
Its sorted the most stupidly designed thing on a xe lol
Yeah lets just route the throttle cable hanging over the engine bouncing off the cam cover lol
Well seen as how ive removed my sub setup (ONLY 18 year old with no sub in their car round here!) Ive decided a nice little touch would be to go all factory with the audio, so picked up these
2x SC201's (Came standard in poverty Novas)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...3-16201327.jpg
1x SC303 (GSI standard item)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...3-16201255.jpg
And this beauty, mega rare CD300 (Optional extra in cavaliers and Calibras, note the LCD display on the unit unlike Corsas Vectras etc)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...3-16201356.jpg
Cant decide what one to use, as the CD300 doesnt illuminate when the headlights are on :( anyone know if this is an easy fix?
The most up to date will be best due to wattage, the original head units were lacking in sound and distort when your tunes are banging lol
Do any of them have aux ports on the back to let you plug in at least a external feed through a headphone socket?
nice mate have you had it out yet ? youl love it , wish i had a valver in mine when i was 18
Ohh liking the headunits, i changed the old (broken) original headunit to an pioneer optional extra headunit out of an '84 micra. Only problem with mine is that the manual knob tuner is hard to get the radio stations, and with the tuner knob being the bigger one, i always use that one instead of the volume one lol.
How much did the headunits cost you, like the philips one? Heres mine, looks awesome at night as the whole thing lights up in the old orangy light and looks so retro lol.

Well ive spent yet another wad of cash on the Nova, literally not even got a pound to my name now lol
This came up... loads of people have said its all thats needed to make the car 100% perfect, and it was complete...
Here goes...
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...3-23210750.jpg
Yes ladies and gentlemen... a FULL GSI INTERIOR! :D
Its 100% complete, uncut doorcards, no holes in the dash for immobilisers etc, near enough mint seats with only a tiny hole in the bolster, all the trimmings, black handles black door seats etc, literally the whole inside of a 37,000 mile GSI

Hopefully get it fitted this week once i find some split rear seat bracketory :thumb:
Spot on mate, i dont feel so bad about deciding to keep my cavs tape player now lol
Why do you have a cav SRi steering wheel with it though, they look poo and need binning :p
You forgot to thank Graeme in your update lol
John the CD300 doesnt illuminate so im undecided about keeping it atm, going to try and get it repaired its more for looks than anything, so id still like the tape player lol
Thanks to Greg and Graeme for sorting the interior for me, even if it did take me 3 hours to find Gregs place lol
Its not down to me really more like Dave seeing the light and spending his cash on his car instead of birds, I would like my grey choke blank back though lol
Also the steering wheel wont ben getting kept, as it says under the photos keeping my MOMO one :thumb:
Well the interiors in, totally tramsformed the car! Will get pics up tomorrow night when im at home :thumb:

Love the interior now! Looks 1000x better all black, wanted it mint though and the 37000 mile GSI it came out of, well couldnt get a minter one really :thumb:
Two pics of my daily and Nova together
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...3-31095734.jpg
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...3-31095753.jpg
Since the photos were taken, ive now got a black parcel shelf, the rear seat brackets have been welded in properly so now the seats lock in and also the bases tilt forward like their supposed to, only thing i need to do now is paint my boot plinth black to match everything, then it should be around MOT time, but seen as how i work in a MOT garage im not really worried about it failing lol
Thats all for now folks, what do you think? Improvement? :thumb:
Massive improvment, finishes off the inside nicely :thumb:
Alessios need going on the Nova or get a second set
Looks better everytime I read this thread Dave ;)
Best mod so far :d Looks great.
looking very good mate , white bumpers next :P
Nice work mate.
It's amazing how a black dash transforms everything :thumb:
Well heres the rest of the update guys,
My mates old beige shelf he gave me as i didnt want to ruin a perfectly good desirable grey shelf
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...3-31133035.jpg
After loads of coats of black aerosol, came out perfect! (note the boot panel that still needs painting black)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...4-02201314.jpg
60/40 brackets fitted top and bottom
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...4-02201328.jpg
Engine... Mmmmmmmm 2.1 litres of glitter!

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...4-02203525.jpg
Didnt like how the car was sitting since the XE has weighed the front down alot, this is how it sat on -60mm rears

http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...4-06164052.jpg
