Need some new tyres, preferably, 185's. Like how the wheels turned out after a lick of paint though. Just the bumpers to do next weekend to complete the look :)

I decided to do a spring swap so the 40mm kit was on the decent gas shockers (what I should have done from the start anyway). Put the MO's back on, and also fitted the GTe bumpers I aquired from Vauxal (long standing MSN mate) for a song! Cheers matey!
Looks lovely now imo. Perfect for a first car for Hayles, and finally she's started lessons again lol

Backbox still sits funny, but that cant be fixed without a heat up and some pipe bending lol

Just this minute I looked at the 1.2 tuning guide in Articles. Serems the best bet is GSi exhaust (done), 1.4 SR cam with dizzy setup, 1.3 inlet and a twin choke carb. The old Blue SR has a 1.4SR cam, 1.3 inlet and a Weber 32/34. Hell, I might as well, it'll make it easier to drive on hilly motorways lol
I will also hopefully be picking up a new tow vehicle / workhorse / mobile tent in the next day or two :)
Thats looking cool with the gte stuff on
Get the bits swapped over off the 14 :)
Huge mincing today :) Sun was out, so I thought id tidy the Fronty up a bit.
Firstly I wanted to have the wheels off and inspect teh brakes. Good job I decided to do this as the nuts were UUUBBEEERRR tight. After bending my wheel wrench using a 3 meter pole, I took it up to my mechanic who nearly broke his 1 inch breaker bar on them!! Got back home, and as I suspected, the discs are fubarred and the pads are nearly completely gone, so new stuff is on the shopping list for next month. Rear shoes are in quite good nick though so thats good!
WHile the wheels were off, I decided to give them a brush of Hammerite. I knew it wasnt going to look special at all, but they look awful at the mo, so anything would be an improvement. I plan to get some new rims for it in the future anyway.
Before (this one was in ther best condition lol)

After

Despite the poor finish, they are a 100% improvement!
Then while the brush was wet I painted up the kickboards as they were rusty as feck! Then gave it a polish :)

After a thorough check over, all it needs is front brakes and it looks like the oil pressure sensor is leaking. Not bad at all!! I also plan to remove the viscous fan and put an elecy one with a thermostat on to unleash a couple of ponies :)
That looks better than I thought it would look.
Does look pretty 'ard on the black wheels
have fun when you do your front brakes as you have auto locking hubs and you have to take them off to do the discs and the wheel baring is in the front discs aswell ohhhhh the fun you will have :thumb:
I noticed that lol. Ive a feeling i may be needing to buy a haynes bible before I attempt it!Quote:
