Cooool
Today after spending two hours searching various DIY shops for grinder sanding disc backing pads i finally got on with the car.
I started by finishing off the aperture for the turret so the fit was nice and tight

Offered up the rolled sheet that will end up as the turret to check the fit

And from inside the car

Then once i was happy with the general fit (which took ages i will admit) i made up a 'lid' for the turret and welded it up to the rolled sheet - it was taking shape nicely

im after the complete set for the back end :(
Your fabrication skills are amazing.
Then i fitted it up to the car again and marked out the general shape inside the wheel arch and cut the turret to shape

I then cleaned all the crud off the surface around the turret aperture and the seams around the turret (were i wanted to weld)

This is how it looks in the car with its lid on

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...urrets1027.jpg
Then i started to weld it in - inner arch side first

http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...urrets1032.jpg
And i stitched the seams up
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...urrets1030.jpg
Then cleaned up all the edges - finished on this side

Here's a quick on with the rear axle in place tp show the rear shock mounting point

Moving to the inside of the car it was time for yet more welding
