Love the inverted swirl pot....

Looking good.... how have you spaced it down from the bumper?
How far back does it go?
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...62612adfb1.jpg
It'll do for now
Sorry mate!!! Misread your question
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f50e4adb66.jpg
These posts come down from the valence support bar we made you can see it here at the bottom of the pic
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...3b0a5328ea.jpg
We also made some rear supports that come from the tie bracket vertical bolts and translate across to the inside of the wings. I'll try and get some pics of those next time I remove the splitter.
Not Ben and I hung off the front and rear mountings and there's no flex in them at all so pretty happy they're strong enough.
Looking good, and glad to hear it's been built strong.
When I ran my Escort Cosworth in hillclimbs, the well-known aerodynamicist Simon McBeath had a look at my front splitter and told me that if it wasn't strong enough to stand on, then it wasn't going to work as it should. It wasn't as strong as that.
About 10 minutes later it tore off at about 100mph......
We'll see, we're planning on adding a central vent in the skirt above the splitter to blow directly onto the manifold, that air should exit between the brace and the chassis as it's not sealed there. I've also not got no upper bulkhead lip where the original wiper mounts and the air that comes in the front past the radiator can exit out of the vents below the screen

Added AN6 feed and returns and also a drain plug as it's always a pain to drain the tank if you need to.
I couldn't find an original nova level sensor so decided to go with one of the solid float type from CBS, as usual, needed some work to get it in and working
Fancy!
Nice welding
What time do you reckon you’ll finish at Snetterton as it’s my home track and I’d love to come an have a nosey round this car
Few little updates before Cadwell on Sunday.
Popped over to see Mitch at Pro-line and we sorted the plumbing for the swirl pot

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...bdd9e20b1c.jpg
Put less than 2 litres in the tank and it fired up and ran which is mega, just need to re-set the level sender settings and we're done.
Added these residual pressure valves to help prevent pad knock back

One for the front brakes right near the M/c, as we think the issue is up front. Also added one for the rear brakes too. Both hold 2psi in the line to prevent the fluid from draining back and allowing the pistons to retract. Time will tell if this is successful.

All set for tomorrow!!!
Look forward to the videos.

Scared
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...83426e89eb.jpg
It is smashing it down
Got a few videos but it is properly terrifying.
Told you it was scary
https://youtu.be/TyTAPrhcqPA
Proper video to follow when my laptop stops being a dick
Does look scary lol. Hope the damage was mininimal!
It was a good hit!!

We pulled the front wings off of the wheels, ripped the splitter and valence off and I went straight back out.
Tracks straight, brakes in a straight line. Felt fine, Ben seems to have made a strong car, the barrier there is especially soft too, it's got massive foam pads infront of the tyres to protect the bikers when they crash. Radiator took a whack and it's a little bit bent but still holds pressure.
I also hit right on the join of the barrier where the access road is so the barrier was extra thick there!!
I drove the car from where it crashed back to the pits, which I was pretty amazed by!!
Proper video
https://youtu.be/4vvZr9bBJZE
Wow that looked a pretty bloody hard impact. I’m impressed how calm you were after the impact!
glad it’s not too badly damaged
I'll be honest mate, no Adrenalin hit as I was going in, no shakes afterwards I was angry as I was going in cos I just thought "you total C**T, you've Fucked your new shell"
it was a good hit.
I can't recommend the HANS device enough, best £800 I've ever spent. That was a pretty hard stop and no neck pain at all today.
Got a bit of crash analysis coming up!!
So, I've reviewed the videos and discovered the following, sorry for images it was the best way I could get the pictures and pause it quickly enough.
Lap before the crash
Still on the gas at 3
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...95a555da.plist
Well on the brakes by 2.5
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...d4dcf8a6.plist
Crash lap
Still on the gas at 2.25
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...516054d1.plist
Brake at 2
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...602ef2e7.plist
I can't explain it other than to say that the 2 is my "safe" braking marker in the dry, can't think why!! Perhaps it was the chocolate brownie I ate for lunch........
Adopt the position, cross the arms!!
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e12ff5b50b.jpg
It was at this point I thought, "have I filed the company VAT return"
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...406da34cbe.jpg
Little bit of front airbornedness
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...f2327ffc9e.jpg
So there we have it!! New wings are into paint today, indicators in their way to me, need to sort a new front valence and some driving skills before Snetterton 1/11/19
Words cannot express my feelings when you limped back in and I realised you'd ruined that nice front bumper.
I think I was surprisingly upbeat
But the damage is minimal considering the impact
Guess the car wanted rid of that front splitter lol
But on a serious note, glad you and the car are not too badly damaged, could have been a lot worse considering the speed you went off at.
Nick.

Looking great again love the pics..
Awesome pictures, looks like it's going to take off up the hill.
What time are you at Snetterton from on the 1st? Might try and pop in to say hi before work.
Great pics, front splitter makes it look really mean.... nice :thumb:
I am currently working away and have read this over the course of the week. while I have heard of hangar 30 on various forums ive never realized such amazing quality of work was done there. I literally live five minutes from the place too, and the Edwards motorsport exhaust was top work. will def be remembering that for future work. you have really spurned me on to get mine back driving again now. the cars turned out great
