They run a BMW sized belt and the bottom pulley no longer has a rubber insert.

How come you have gone for those pulley's? They are only used on high reving XE motors to stop the alternator overcharging the battery. To my mind you would have been better getting a courtenay bottom pulley and running a single v belt.

Its going to be fun finding belt - all I know that a BMW one will fit - which one - who knows!! I'm going to measure
the length of the belt required with a bit of wire and then nip into Halfords and have a measure. Multi-v belts handly
have the length stamped on them!!
On the build timescales I try not to rush things - they get done when they get done!!! At least I don't stress
out about missing deadlines!!!
Progress on work - whilst the shell is out of the garage I've got the carpets out for a clean - they have come
up fine with a vax but one big problem - the car they came out of had a dog with white hair - how do you get
animal hairs out of the carpet fibres??? It won't hoover out, or vax out and my clothes brush ain't much cop either??

Any tips or ideas would be appreciated!!!

you can get dog hair removers - theyre like a roll of sellotape with a very sticky backing - try that.
masking tape is also pretty good...
