How's the 'lectrics coming on?
Good stuff. I assume that hose/pipe is designed to be used with fuel?
Not too bad Ian, got my "ignition live" relay in to feed all my extra goodies and ordered myself a new air horn to wire in lol Once I get a coil and a bit more done it may be ready for starting.
Yes Adam, it's meant for fuel. £1.23 a metre isn't too bad either.
Might ditch that plastic fuel hose and just run rubber to the front, reduces the number of connections and will probably make it easier to route too
On with the exhaust lambda boss, marked out on the manifold:

22mm hole:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/172.JPG
That houses this snugly:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/173.JPG
Will sit here, hopefully out of the way of the tiebar and driveshaft:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/174.JPG
I'd have welded it in but the boss is faulty, so they're sending me a new one:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/175.JPG
Next up something niggly that was stopping me from mounting the dashboard properly, I had chopped the passenger side one of these out in a crazy weight saving spree:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/176.JPG
So one hole and rivnut later:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/177.JPG
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/178.JPG
I now have one again, removable too
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/179.JPG
Dug out my radiator and fitted that up, cos I don't think I could do it with the manifold in place:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/180.JPG
Slimline fan ready to be mounted on the front, when I get a fitting kit:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/181.JPG
And continuing with the cooling system, dug this out, just need to find a way to secure it in position as I've screwed myself over and boxed it out where the old latch was!
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/182.JPG
Good work on the manifold.
I hope you aint using that old coolant tank lol
L-shaped bracket and bolt it to the turret?
Tank will be cleaned up, just took the first one I found to chop up and work out what needs modding. Didn't want to drill the box section as it may let water in and rust from the inside, might make up a bracket to meet the wing hole.
Yeah, a s-shaped kind of bracket and bolt under the wing bolt.
All starting to look very pretty now Iain!
Thanks to Tom Reid for the ignition coil, painted it up nice and got it fitted (for my reference since I had to remove it, the yellow sticker said WW 0 221 600 057):

Got my lambda bung welded in to the exhaust:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/184.JPG
New bung is threaded nicely so the bolt goes in nice and straight:

It's currently drying after being cleaned ready for some matt black 650C paint.
Are you not breaking this yet?
Not yet :)
In that case, good work. Keep on it.

Hhhmm hide the loom, then run it along the slam panel? *shakes head*
this is coming allong well mate!!! doe's look tasty!!
Cheers all. Ben it's not there permanently, just while I fit and remove the radiator - hoped it was in for good until I found the manifold wouldn't fit with it in place!
As the car stands
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/188.JPG
Painted up the manifold with Halfords 650C paint:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/189.JPG
And fitted. Although I've just removed and refitted it to get the radiator in, d'oh:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/190.JPG
Fuel hoses, one was way shorter than the other:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/191.JPG
So I extended it slightly so it reaches through the hole in the chassis:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/192.JPG
Also made up my two 8mm ID plastic hoses to run the length of the floorpan:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/193.JPG
8mm barbed ends with mikalor clamps:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/194.JPG
Will have some fuel system finished pics tomorrow as I just need to connect up one more hose and it's done.
Nice progress iain glad you sorted the manifold problem.
Very neat work dude.
be a nice nov when its finished, well done buddy:thumb:
I am enjoying your work. If you bend the slam panel support bar you can get the rad in the front. I used too.
Marked out where the rad mounts were located and pushed the cable ties through:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/195.JPG
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/196.JPG
Fan slid over the ties and fastened down:

http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/198.JPG
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/199.JPG
Finished off the fuel lines at the back with the fuel filter in place:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/200.JPG
And painted up my 256mm ATEs and carriers ready for fitting:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/201.JPG
What size inner diameter fuel lines you using?
8mm ID feed and return
Is she running yet mr Lemon?
One more fuel hose clamp and it's ready to start I reckon, might try tomorrow.
Cheers iain
Good work.

After that the battery died so I left this and armed with some high strength loctite:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/202.JPG
I put my studs in. Fronts are 48mm exposed length:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/203.JPG
And rears are 38mm exposed length. Had to be careful on the rears to stop winding them in at the right point otherwise it would force the flat section down and screw up the threads in the drum:
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/204.JPG
Get the thing started to day.
Its going to take as long as it took before to make it build oil pressure, Poss longer this time.
I'm thinking it hasn't built up oil pressure before, I may have got confused. Just had it going for another minute and it's not doing it again. I might try a different set of clocks just in case, seeing as these ones are fairly knackered since the oil pressure gauge fiasco.
As I'm feeling a bit fed up with the motor, I trial fitted my new wheels as a bit of a pick-me-up, just need to decide colour.
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/205.JPG
Nut only just fits on the rear studs, maybe I should have gone for the longer one so I can use spacers if required...
http://iainel.co.uk/images/forums/NovaWIP2a/206.JPG
Twit twooo, those wheels are looking nice.
And i vote to keep them white ;)
White looks okay in the picture but in person they're far too bright compared to the car colour. So if they're staying white they'll need a repaint.
White with a red lip to match the pin stripe, depending how bad the colour difference is it might hide that too :)
repaint matching white with mentioned red rim tape.
Job done :thumb:
White but to match the bodywork.
30 seconds around the track, and they will be darker with brake dust ;)
