No problem mate, glad we got it sorted in the end !
Hopefully the breather mod to the red novas engine will help it survive a little longer LOL Thanks again for the rapid recovery lol
I think if I did prove anything today its how far you can go on a swirl pots worth of fuel ! after the wire came off the switch for the facet I must of done a easy 30 miles with it only running on the injection pump and full swirl pot, now thats economy !
Thanks for the bacon sarni's and countless cups of tea ! Nice one Shell !
Dar, I've got a map I'll dig out for you to use, try it and you can make your own mind up wether the base map will do ;) pukka loom you sold Olly too :)

Cool, glad you went to help Olly out. Sounds like its running great now:thumb:
I will deffo have that map off of you to try:D

Its definately a lot better, once it has a clutch he'll have to see how it goes on the road but it should be fine, sadly no good maps we have seem to want to let his car run without huge problems so he's stuck on something I found already on the ecu, IMO it needs a proper mapping session so I advised he does a few minor tweeks first to make the mapping worthwhile ;)
Your map worked on Ads ecu so the map I've got should work fine on yours, I've got a few issues with tehe stock engine in Ads at the moment so more power is something it does not need lol The map was for a stock xe running creams and a btb manifold, it made 183hp so I guarantee you will see a lot of improvement on what you have been using.
Happy New Year !

nice one glads its runing.. be good to see this nova next year

tonights update -
> sold my fancy Acewell dash on, in favour of standard clocks again, as it was too much hassle for hardly any gain
> ordered some Kent AST1612 cams from Chris Astley, should help me towards 200bhp once it's fully mapped up
> ordered big overbore Ashley grpA manifold from Ashley Competition, which also should help with a bit of free breathing
> ordered Genuine Vauxhall GM cambelt kit from AutoVaux along with 8v baffle plate with incorporated sump gasket
> wired in standard clocks
> half removed gearbox in preperation for clutch swap, but struggled on me tod
got some pics... but nothing of interest, but feel free to ask away any questions regardless :)
-
Sounds sweet young Oliver, be good to see/hear at a track soon :)
-
No update, but some pics nonetheless.
Firstly - fantastic service from Marc @ AutoVaux once again, orderd my cambelt kit and cam seals yesterday at around 3:30pm, and I was woken up by a knock at the door at 07:30am this morning to an ANC delivery man, asking me to sign for my parts! Brilliant! Better still - all the parts are genuine GM which I wasn't expecting

Along with my 8v baffle tray with sump gasket already bonded on, makes life much easier to do the ARPs now lol ?18.56 bargain

Also, as I plan to go on a mission to remove all unnecessary metal, I thought it was best that I invest in some heavy duty spot weld drill bits, so I don't have to grind much any more, as I hate it

On with the clutch removal, first off was to remove the end plate to see if the input shaft was removable...

NOPE! lol doh
However I called Quiafe who were mega helpful, and they crossed referenced the part numbers I found on 5th gear so they could tell me all my ratios

It looks like the titanic! and this is where I'm up to at the moment
