Hmm, its developed an annoying misfire under heavy(ish) acceleration :(
Got new plugs here, as I thought they could have fouled up, but I reckon it could be "porous" head, or the gasket has gone. Its drinking lots of water...

Any sign where the water is going? Probably worth cracking it open and change the gasket anyway, the cost of the parts is minimal really compaired to the problems and headaches it could cause. To give you an idea, GM parts for mine were £46 (Gasket and bolts)
I take it you know how to fix the 'porous' head? It about the only thing I know about (ghay) big blocks :p lol
Had a wee look round it at PVS and I really really like it
The Irmscher front end really sets it apart :)
Get the waterways sleeved I believe. Tempted to have that place out in the sticks take a look at it, which I can't remember the name of off the top of my head... Thornfalcon?
I don't think there's any more leaks, although I did notice a slight damp patch under the front when I was parked at Halfords last night, under the radiator (which did have a leak to begin with, bodged with radweld). Didn't see any drips though.
I'll do the plugs today and see what the old ones look like. Parts guy at Halfords couldn't get his head round how I have an Astra engine in a Nova, so no luck with a fuel pump there. Found an Nova MPi one on ebay though, £30... might plump for that as a spare.
lol, that happens a lot. I find it easier to tell them I have an Astra when i need bits like that. Stops the poor guys getting confuzzled.Quote:

If you need a new rad, give me a shout. Sorted James (spud) out with one the other day - £45ish.
Well its running again, with all of its revs back :D
New fuel pump seems to have worked its magic. That is, after I put the connections on the correct way round, whoops lol Only managed to spill quarter tank over myself lol
Did notice the tank to pump fuel hose was looking pretty mashed inside - possibly what killed off the old pump - so I've replaced that as well. Just been out for a quick rant, so once its cooled down I'll check the water hasn't disappeared again.
Next week I'm back at work, so it'll be a test of how well the car performs as a daily hack.
wtf? That was a brand spanking new piece of hose?? :wtf: :tard:Quote:

Needs to be lowered down a bit though, I was hoping I could get away without chopping all the metal off the back of the dash but no :(
Water temp doesn't work, handbrake light doesn't work, no oil pressure warning light, I have no air to the windscreen as I've taken the duct out to chop it, and I've not yet run a cable to the coil for revs, but the fuel and speedo work. BODGETASTIC
Oh, don't sit in your car all afternoon chopping bits off your dash and inhaling the dust. I feel like I've just had 20 pints.
What was wrong with your Nova clocks? lol
