Thanks for all the comments. Just spent hours looking at all possibility's, and will probably leave it for now as I have a deadline and don't want to ruin it before then, giving myself more work.
Above is what I wanted to avoid. If I did do that it would be narrower so the chassis rails weren't exposed,
I like your ovals idea but you'd have to paint it black behind the bumper.
Mine's all cut away with original chassis legs, boot floor and spare wheel tub, I think I've avoided most of the parachute effect and all that's exposed is the wheel well when you're down low.

My rear panel is cut away. The way you have done yours is really tidy, I like that.

Yeah see you could cut away similar amounts, maybe a little more level with the rear panel, and it'll look tidy.
I like what you've done with the new bonnet, shame you're having to go back to a metal one for now though.
Why not go full on defuser like Dar and Christian did?

That's more like it ^
Maybe one day. Not looking for any extra work right now though.

Visited Steve @ GWR Motorsport this week who is the guy I use when I need a lesson in electrics. It just so happens that he has all the stock I could need too, so after a cuppa we went through my wire spec list to locate the battery and Anderson plug behind the passenger seat.
Couldn't have asked for a better service, as always he gave me great advice and I came away with every part required to do a nice job, most importantly all of the correct gauge / hole terminal's, which would make the installation hassle free.

Started on the terminals for the 175amp Anderson plug.

Not got a proper crimping tool, but the vice worked a treat with a bit of extra leverage.
(Top 2 soldered though).

Didn't really take any in-between photo's, but you should get the idea.

I had already mounted the instrument and loosely fitted the aux loom, so started wiring it up as much as I could.

Ended up with this, which seems like a tidy enough installation and perfectly functional.

ECU is wired up ready to go, but that's only 4 or 5 wires so dead simple
The extinguisher is now also plumbed as far as the engine bay, mainly as I wanted to clip the hose to the body then use that to tie the fuel pump / recall button / handbrake loom to, so that's another job down.

I went to collect the panels and grill this morning too. They are, er, white, and I'm happy with them for what I paid.

And fitted the tailgate, just to get it out of the way really.

That's all for now. Tomorrow will be spent with real cars, then back on it Monday.
(Yes the tailpipe needs trimming, it was purposely left long)
great work
Looking good! Will this be at PVS or Billing? Would love a look around it as its an impressive build ;)
