UPDATE
I know... it's been a while to say the least! Not much has happened in the last few months apart from buying bits and pieces. As always planning is pointless because something will no doubt come up and throw you off plan. Hopefully things start to look up and get back on track.
Anyway, had some free time today so decided to get on with some work and clean the filthy gearbox.
Before

Took me ages to get it clean, so much muck and sh*t. Emptied two 500ml spray cans of engine degreaser, knackered two tooth brushes, a scouring pad, a sponge and two brillo pads. That plus many choice words, grazed knuckles, idiot rash and done my back in. I got it to this condition eventually.
After

I'm pleased with the outcome, needs a few hard to reach areas to be cleaned one last time but apart from that it's a worlds apart from before.
I'm now just wondering what colour to spray it; black or silver, or keep it as is? Also clean up inside and the inside of the inspection plate but I had enough for today.
Do it silver, i so regretted doing my nova box black.
PS, surly with a aftermarket fmic you will see cooler inlet temps?!
Silver was my first choice but black came to mind.
Might see cooler temps but if it works fine for 260BHP then it'll be more than adequate for 205BHP.
I'm a fan of the black personally. I've gone black box, black block, black head, black inlet, white cam cover.
You missed abit.....................Looks good matey, id go for silver
Yeah a few small areas missed but I left them soaked in degreaser.
Black will look nice but will make it harder to spot if anything is leaking and silver will show dirt much more.
I like black too (generally), I mean a lot of the parts will be done in black as well as silver.
Just wondering what to use to paint it, needs to be durable.
Do the gearbox the same colour as the car :d
coukd look good. Black will be the highest maintenance colour tbh. It will show up the slightest bits of dust & crap & lets face it gearboxes get covered in it. If it was a trailer quen then crackle black would look awesome, but otherwise I would choose silver or maybe mix some black in with it to crerate a gunmetal finish. halfway between the two?Quote:

So in terms of colours its a choice of whats on the car i.e. black, silver or gold. Looks like it'll be silver but something nice and shiney and durable.Quote:
