Update.
Right first off a big big thanks to Astra Dan and More cavs than you Pete. Mig funking legends!
Took the two rears down and sorted the tyres before work this morning again. Thank you Paul and Daz at Protyre in fareham 01329 220743.
So i finished at 1pm, tank it home on me bike, to find dan and pete already at mine working away..
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_3988.jpg
They had finished stripping the front off and where sorting the cv joints and shafts out. Finding some of the spilens on my "custom" shafts where a bit butched.. i made a quick to to a mate and stole his Gsi shaft with cav mk2 inner.. as a temp fix and picked up some lunch.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_3987.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_3994.jpg
Got back and got the shaft sorted out and ready to fit.
While they where carring on with the front,
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_3990.jpg
I started stripping the rear end.
Now i bought the beam all ready converted to disc... So i had no clue what had been done.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_3996.jpg
First starting to undo the hub bolts... Funking hell these where tight! One of them they had just started to round when they stoped.. so tryed to undo it it rounded right away.. Striped off the calipars, springs and shocks off, and un did the hand brake cable.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_3999.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_3997.jpg
After a lot! of fighting i got the hubs unbolted and off, Then pulled out the grinder out and ground the head off the rounded bolt.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_3995.jpg
Now while i was ion there, dan remember what the simps (cheers dude) had to did, trimming down the casing off the beam so cause the shoulders on the bolt touch it so you cant do them up... Sooo
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4002.jpg
The new hubs had abs, these is a prob as the old hubs and beam didnt.. so the hole in the center wasnt bigger enough So we removed (see hit with a hammer) the abs cover thing and rings under neither, they fit a bit better now.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4001.jpg
While that all sorted it was bolting back together time. Fitting my old fk rear springs as they are lower.. Just till the coilovers get here.
Heres how she looks at the mo. No prober pics as one of the cvs on the front isnt fully clicked in to place so i have no drive, so will get it jacked up and sorted in the morning, give it a good clean then get some proper pics, but you get the look.

Ste: having custom alloy centers cut and made. Which i'll polish up so they match the wheels.
Mark: cheers dude.
Will: Plate? what where the front one is? Cheers too.
Martin: cheers.
Lookin good benn, any new arty pics?
Looking great fella! :)
well i had my doubts but they were wrong! That looks superb man, look forward to seeing proper pictures.
Funking thing!
Been under and in it all day!
Right nova gsi shafts, are 22spilne on the inner end, and 28 on the out... So the cvs i have for the outer are wrong. Funking cont bags.
So i need a pair of cvs, then are 28 inner spline and 33 hub end... funk!
But i can now get a shalf out in under 4min.... Which is great.
Pics uploading so i'll be editing this in a few.
First strip down.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4012.jpg
Throught it was fixed to put it all back together... It wasnt
Second strip down...
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4013.jpg
Swaped to my other gsi shafts (ones i painted a few pages ago)
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4017.jpg
Everything seamed to fit and work ok, built it all up
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4018.jpg
Fitted it and same thing!:mad:
So i now need to sit and look thru the cv joint book and find the right ones, that are 28 slipnes on the shaft and 33 for the hub... hoping i can do it and find them to moz.. or i'm funked.
So pissed off with that i thought i'd swap the rear arb...
Old ones the pink one.. new is the silver..
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4022.jpg
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4023.jpg
Dont know what the old ones from but its tiny..
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4025.jpg
Beat the old one out.. cleaned it up and fitted the new one.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4021.jpg
So wheels back on and they needed a good clean, so wanted to try my megs metal polish
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4027.jpg
Not impressed! Came out ok in places but bits have gone misty...(polish is still on the wheels in the pics)
So gonna have to clean them up with something else then wax them.
Ride hight has settled a bit.. Should and will be lower.
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b3...s/IMG_4029.jpg
Pissed off tho.
Keith: see above...
Nick: cheers dude.
Wilson: thanks dude.
Nice wheels, they came out really nice, I was not sure if I was gonna like them.
Sorry to hear about your hub and driveshaft hassles. If its any use, I got some GTE 22 spline shafts and put them on my trade account :thumb: (they were still around £200)
Try using some autosol on them man, then put wheel wax on them (thats actually what its called) Il try and find you a link for it.
edit: heres the stuff i use at work man, its **** hot. Would really protect the wheels. Not sure where you could get it from, we just get it in every so often when we run out. Try some of these detailing websites, if you cant get it and fancy some il send some to you. Or bring it to pvs.

Wheels look minted mate - How did you go from a 4-stud Speedline setup to a 5-stud Cav Turbo setup so quick ??
djshaggeh: wont work, cant get the right cvs, so i've had to fork out to get new shafts.
Prob is autosol has a cut, with can mark the finish.. looking at the link now.Quote:

very nice indeed.
to think that i didnt like turbo rims going back a few years.....
but to be honest i wouldnt even dream of putting any oither set on my cavalier turbo.
clean standard i think is the way to go lol.
Yeh i was thinking of the wax more of a way as protecting them?Quote:

Update.
What a utter pain the in the ass doing this 5stud has been.
So after the pissing about with the ment to be nova shafts that turned out to be tigra shafts... But the simps managed to sort his funk up (cheers dude) and found shawn had a pair of big block nova sized shaft.. So after a lil road trip(300milesish to essex and back) i had a pair of shafts..
Got them all fitted this morning.. sorted the leek in the gear box.. my falt didnt push the shaft in fully.. Started it and woohhooo i had drive. Took the car on a test drive and had a really bad banging from the rear, WTF! Thought maybe it where the seats not seated right.. but they where ok... pissed about changing them, nope..
Went to check the calipar bolts where right and found the whole hub was moving
So with a bit of diagnosees we worked out that the abs ring bit was hitting the beam mount, so the bolts where tight.. but the hub was tight to the mount so it could move
So anyone that is either fitting these kinda stuff, or will be check this out.
Pete worked out that we could put washers on the studs so it with kinda space the hub so when it was bolted up it would be tight. So both hubs off, thick stanless washers fitted, bolted back up and it worked and was tight.. Test drove it.. and she was beautifull.
Washed it and swaped back to my tinted lights too.
So i wanna say a huge thanks to dan and pete both of you legends. A thank you to simps and shawn.
Now the bit you wanna see if you havent all ready..
