Excellent work Sir!
Looking very different and using much less Nova than I'd imagined! Will be awesome to see it finished, keep it up :)
looking very good now mate, fairly coming along with it.
iain
It amazes me how you make it look so easy! It all looks as tho it should there and not from a larger totally differntly laid out car.
Loving this Thread, keep it up.
Do you think you will have space issues at the front of the engine? I take it the front crossmember will be resited further back to retain the Novas shape & size?
i hope it retains the novas shape, unlike a few 4x4 fiestas ive seen with **** bumpers and stuff bolted on blue peter style
Yes i will be using the standard bumpers.Quote:

Looking at it now i dont think i will have to much trouble with space at the front i should get the rad and the rs500 cooler in without it all hanging out and the bumper cut and stuff like the normal nova turbos (no offence to anyone that have there coolers out past the bumper) i want to keep it as standard (ish) as i can. Will have to have some wide arches but going for the standard looking wide ones and some alloys thats about it. I like the sleeper look hehe
Getting there eh !!
Have you had to 'add' much steel to join everything up or you just manged to trim the Sierra body work to mate up the Nova ?? How does the line of the bulkhead line up to where the origional Nova one did - Further back ?? You gonna have a floor mounted pedal box or you gonna be able to use the Sierra pedal setup ??
Last Q ... how did you go about getting it to sit at the right height, or have you just lined both front & rear floors up to where the Nova one was ?
:thumb:
Awesome...
Right where to startQuote:

Bulkhead wise its not to far off but it does sit back a bit from standard. Im happy with that tho cause then i can have my seat and controls further back to aid the weight distribution:D
Floor height wise i put it up as hi as a thought a could so i can have the car sitting lower than standard but try to keep the drive shafts strait to limmit the anount of power lost through the drive train and keep a good ground clearance as there are loads of speed bumps around my way:mad:
Hope that answers the questions mate
Oh forgot about the pedal box Q
I think i will be using a bias pedal box just for the better brake reson i could just bolt a standard pedal box in and go but a have big 4pots discs and bells so i want to make the most of them
You Nutta........
But In The Best Way :):):)
HAHAHA i love it heheQuote:

Looks as though it's coming together very nicley now mate, it just goes to prove that anything is possible so long as you put the effort in!! i should imagine that it's goin to have to have a Q plate because of the major structural modifications? reading this has given me an idea, what dose everyone think of using an Impreza floor pan, running gear and engine in a nova? lastly that welder that your using whats it like? good goin and good luck with the rest of it.
Cheers mate it will be regestered as a 2.0l nova but will have it insured and a policy that i have a set priceQuote:

And as for a scooby idea. I dont like them but its up to you. Pistons made of chocolate and gearboxes made of left over chocolate and they sound like there misfiring but thats just my opinion
^ theres a Impreza engined and running gear clad Focus for sale at the minute ;)
Yes ive seen itQuote:

this thread is insane  lol
i look forward to seeing its progress!
If you don't mind me asking mate, where are you in Scotland?
I agree with the piston & gearbox comment, had mine mapped to overfuel cylinder 3 to avoid det., but nothing could prevent my gearbox from eating itself. Spent ?1300 having the gearbox re-built then weeks later it was written off by a hippo driving a corsa.Quote:
