christ you've got too much £££lol
would of been nice to see pics of the inlets/ex ports etc, but ahwel.
car should be a weapon:cool:
I wish i did have to much £ plenty more bits i would like.
If i take any of the manifolds off i will get some pics up :)
topman, would be nice to see what they actually do to the heads...besides people saying...everything.lol
Ha ha ha knew it had to be something special!
Nice engine, are you going to dry sump it or leave it as it is?
Also i notice they have welded up the water pipe hole on the side of the head, hmm interesting.
If it was smallblock or Ally block I'd be green with envy. As it is I'm just impressed by the engine
Dunno which smiley to use maybe a  but  combo!!!
That's not the best place for the additional injectors, but still a nice power unit.
Ally block............ maybe in the future:)
I am going to be dry sumping, it wasnt allowed in the class that this engine ran in. Anybody got recomendations of where to get kit from? Im guessing PACE.
Where would the best place to have the second set of injectors?
i would speak to a bloke called steveboyslim on vauxsport for a dry sump kit. also in my opinion having the second set in a stand off position would have been betterQuote:

Speak to Steve Milton (steveboyslim) on mig or vs. He can get great deals on the pace stuff.Quote:

Steve is great for parts and other bits and bobs. Sorted out most of my engine, think i might be needing a dry sump setup off him quite soon for my let.
ste - if dont mind asking whats steve qouted for dry sump? and is it dry sump with scavenge pump, sump cover and tanks or what? i got quite a few of my engine parts from him for my 20xe;)
The additional injectors would be of more benefit if they are stand off is all I'm saying.
Philip why not just pm him?
IIRC its pan, pump, oil pump blank etc but then you need to sort out your own tank. Or at least thats what gav did.
ill give him a ring soon as i get a moment to myself. im working everyday then working on the corsa as had change of planslol
Ste.
What's the latest on your Nova? Any progress?
I've been trying to contact you, can you drop me an e-mail please?
Cheers
Colin
Hi Colin
Ive literally just emailed you lol spooky.
Have a few updates on the car. Wooo.
Ive made a start on the fuel system just waiting for my cell now so i can finish it.
Welded the car to the jig and set the height it will run at. Its unbelivebly low. 4ft from the ground to the roof of the car.
My mates finally finisshed the design of the rear wishbones, there being made as i type.
Bought a new seat as well :)
Will get some pics up in a bit.
This is a cracking build you have there Ste. :thumb:
Loving the Swindon, slightly jealous to say the least as my XE smallblock won't be a patch on this :(
You don't post may pictures up but when you do :eek::eek: looking forward to the next chapter ;)
Looking forward to seeing some pics ste, got to be one of if not the best build on here imho.
Stephen.
I'm going to be in your area on Monday, I'd be interested to have a nose around at the progress....
I've e-mailed you.
Colin
Heres a few update pics:
Car sat on frame, hub carriers have yet to be welded to the frame:

Lazer cut hub carriers are to hold the hubs in position whilst the cars are build around them:
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...d/Image025.jpg
The cars welded to the frame on 3" blocks. This will be the cars ride height but will be able to adjust another 2" down:

The rears been cut out to make way for the rest of the cage and the double wishbones:

Looking great!
I'm running a very similar ride height on my saloon. Because I'm running turrets at the rear I've moved the top mount higher to get plenty of shock travel but fronts obviously I can't! What are you planning on doing - running much shorter shocks so they don't bottom out? What are you doing regarding driveshaft angles?
Cheers.
Im going to be running custom length shocks on the front. As for shaft angles i can position the engine /box whever i want due to space framing the frot :)
EDIT: what sizes wheels are you running as mine are a 17"
how sexy does that look! . looking good ste!have you thought anymore about getting them brakes?it should be an absolute weapon once done though!

I'm running an 20XE on f28 for now but will be converting to rwd using escort running gear in the future so not looking for a permanent solution for the driveshaft angles. I'm only running around 180bhp so will just see how many cv's I eat!
How do I go about measuring up for the custom shocks? At the moment I have avo's on there with an 8" spring wound right to the bottom and I want to come down at least another inch.
This is my height at the rear (tape indicating std hatch box arch) that I'm wanting to match up front with preferably a slight nose dip. Its pretty much max for the std height of the inner arches.

Sorry to clog up your thread with this can remove if you wish?
As for the custom length shocks i will be speaking to gaz in the near future about lengths etc, so should know more soon. Sorry i cant be more help at the moment.
Guess the real work begins now; any ideas on wishbone setup for the rear?
Some interesting progress and i look forward to seeing were the car goes next! top work btw :thumb:
I will have in a week or so :)Quote:

lol The cage is rather shexy, more to be added. Its tacked to the pillars so the shell didnt move one bit.Quote:

Loving the bag tank - My mate has the same one and covers for his Corsa C S1600 - unfortunatley I think its out of FIA date for international rallies !!
