Nice one I bet those old carbs sound awsome out on the roads
I want a Fearless cage badly for mine lol
Anyway I better stop talkin piss, and let the thread do its buisness :)
Stunning work Nick, Can't wait to see it properly at Billing! Its defo one of the best built Novas IMO.
Keith
how have i missed this . engine bay is bling tastic and the flocked, carbon and red is awesome
Stunning.
Nick, Im not happy.... I now really want my red/black one back. It looks so fresh, cant believe you drive it!
Racelines are cool as feck  was going to suggest red stickers and hubs, but maybe not - bit too flash. A light grey will be good. Also have you considered painting the hubs blue for the left and red for the right?
Mate this is looking achingly good - can't wait to see it at Billing - you with JOV?? Carbon and chrome is a good contrast, but I'm loving it all chrome - christ your out blinging me now!!!lol
Looks amazing, awesome attention to detail!
this thread just depresses me knowing i cant get on with mine due to other priorities first lol, absolute top work mate looks awesome, i think the chrome engine covers work well and the door catches and bonnet bolts look great!
those wheels look tops also, this car just gets better and better
nick, how about a carbon fibre plug cover matchin the other shiny CF stuff?
looks stuning
Great attention to detail as always Nick :thumb:
Needs a fearless strut brace to finish the bay though...
These projects can never finish lol
Just leave the center caps polished or black? with red raceline stickers on the wheels would look cool i reckon.
Cheers keith, ash, burgo, martin and anyone who Ive missed for the nice comments...
Ash.. I did originally think about red stickers but thought they may look a bit Jap stylee??
Martin.. give me a day or so for the next update :D
Geordie Chris... You canny beat a bit of shiney can you! Your Car was looking great at pv by the way :thumb:
Hybrid turbo.. Thanks fella I did have a fearless front brace but sold it in favour of the sparco item as the fearless one hid the clenliness of the carbs etc, regret it a bit now though!
Matt172... You've made a fair few of these jobs possible so big thanks to you for that... I will bear it in mind when I sort them few bits out for you etc... I wont give too much away!
This eves update then.... As mentioned earlier I was going to have grey centres to go with grey stickers I had made up however Ive changed my mind on this again! So whilst at work today the centres had a colour change..
How they were in grey...

Lined up ready to go....
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214859543
And how they finished up...

Lovely!! Hope you didn't get black overspray on that lovely Estoril Blue M3 (the colour of my Nova!!)
Who cares about the M3 when theres nova bits to do! lol On a serious note though the m3 was sheeted up whilst I coloured the centres up then they just got lacqeured at the same time ;)Quote:

I'd of stuck with the speedlines mate lol lol lol
It must be quite handy working in a bodyshop, just take anything straight to work and spray them whatever colour you want lol
Wow, its looking great Nick, :thumb: hopefully people will take lots of pics at billing.
PS: what exhaust did you pull off it? any pics?
Hey Adam, yes it does workout quite well when I have bits to do!Quote:

Jeff.... I had a full stainless system made to replace the centre exit exhaust on the white shell no more than 3 years ago, that was swapped to this car when it was all built up, tbh the only thing I didnt like was the tailpipe design... 4" slash cut looks like it should be on an impreza etc! Its not a badly made exhaust I was going to put it up for sale soon but If your interested just drop me a pm etc. Im sure they will be some pics at the beginning of the thread to show you how the tailpipe did look before? If that helps.
Ok so onto a little update from this eves....
First off most important to start with...
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214943855
Now were ready to go.....! Flocked sunvisors into place shortly followed by flocked speakers covers.......
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214943931
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214944365
Some of you who may be a little beady eyed may have noticed this on the end of the paint stand in previous pics when I painted the wheel centres but did you guess what it was for...?
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214944574
It was for my new gearknob another carbon product but as above came with a silver finished collar and I thought it would look better black, heres how it looks....
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214944712
Quick pic of chrome door mechs and screws that made it in the other day...
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214944745
Thought Id try a centre on for size and see how the colour looks...
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214944846
Quite happy at that I think!
I actually got some original raceline stickers when I bought the wheels but didnt think blue would go with black not on my car anyhow so I dropped by at the local printers who do a lot of custom decals on the minis for work and got these made up....... black, dark grey and original blue items, I think Im going to go with the black ones atm....
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214945175
Also added this to continue the carbon cockpit theme...
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214945236
I also removed these to make way for new items.....
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214945405
Quick manifold shot whilst no heat shield is on... note new studs, nuts and nice white heatwrap!
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214945521
Here we go then new carbon items replace the other bling items, Im a little happier now as the carbon has toned the bay down a little I think?? Looking few old reciepts the other day it seemed martin hill had used qed as well as sbd for a few of the smaller items for his engine build at the end of 2002 and I was on there site last week saw the cover and found it too tempting to resist! Note my oil caps just arrived back from the chromers too!
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214945907
Also on a larger scale.....
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214945942
Looking minted
I love this car! :)
Love it Nick, I have some wheel bolt covers that I can bring to vboa ifyou want but they wont cover the locking nuts
Bit of a delayed shot this as Its now fitted but here was my new servo rubbed and mounted up ready for paint.. I cut down some sealer nozzles and taped them up to stop any paint getting into the servo, It worked a treat!...
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214946080
Painted and fitted pics to follow.
This was my attempt at an arty shot ! Good job Im not a photographer! lol
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214946341
Thats all for this eves folks, Im having the bonnet pin switch moved within the next few days as Its positioned just on the edge of the firewall above the battery at the mo and this means my carbon scuttle trim wont sit flush!
When thats done I can get the new trim in. really pleased with how its coming on now good job really as billings only round the corner! Lastly these are getting collected tommorow so no going back now!
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1214144598
Nick.
Cheers Mark but I'll pass...... Them bolts cost a small fortune! Genuine anodised black Bmw wheel bolts and lockers! When the speedlines came off and the RL7's went on I noticed my awful silver looking nuts so we measured a bmw bolt and it was the same size/taper! Result! :)Quote:

This will surely be another TV page spread.
Ok then i'll let you off lol
Just read the thread back to front lol there is just so much cool stuff on this car! when i get my car back it needs big amounts of carbon and flocking!
One of the coolest parts for me is the VIN plate! awsome.
pure filth, stuff you only usually see on ford, vw circles..
this is how its done, wedge permitted. lol.
looks perfect mate good effort:thumb:
Blimey, your a man on a mission. its all spot on, the changes are perfect. I understand why you took the exhaust off. i been serching for ages for the right one, i'm not a big fan of slash cut.
i wish i'd have got you to polish the letters on my plug cover now:cry:
WOW
Just done start to finish and the attention to detail is great, but the carbon is awesome, even got more than me!
Must remember to take a spare memory card to Billing now! :)
nice nick, CF plug cover FTW :)
Thanks to mazz, peester, dan, martin etc and anyone else who has commented I appreciate the feedback etc, Thanks guys, Update on route!!! :)Quote:

I think they look awesome and are very happy that some of my crazy ideas have worked out well!! :D .........
Central vent panel with flush fit led for the alarm...

Headlamp switch panel with fan overide switch and alarm pad etc

Random exterior shot.......
http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k2...g?t=1215022543
Shot showing all dash panels together inc carbon steering shroud too! I think it works really well with the flock dash even if it contradicts its use!

Looks Fantastic Nick! well done!!
