if it made a 13.47 pass on the quarter with a reaction time on 2.416 seconds then on a good run the reaction time should be below 1second making the car hit high 11's if a matching run was made but with a good reaction time. make sense?? doesnt seem right to me tbh lol
Reaction time is irrelevant.
Pods timing equipment doesn't start until your cross the line.
The reaction time is just the delay between the lights going green and you moving...... (you could sit for 10mins with the lights on green, and then set off and still do a 13)
Adam is correct, think most drag strips are like this too, York definitely is!!
ok fair enough not sure myself hence why i said about it.
wouldnt it make it not as acurate? for working out actual reaction times ect?
surely the reaction time should mean the time between the light going green and the car actualy moving.
and surely the timer fo the Quarter will start at the monent the light changes to green and not when the car passes the start line.
can anyone enlighten the situation?
The time for the 1/4 doesn't start until the car moves. The reaction time is how long it takes the car to move after the lights go green.
As above.
My first ever run was against a mate. Didnt no what i was realy doing lol. I moved, he didnt, i stop then went again and i beat him to the end but his time was better.
Adam speaks the truth :thumb:

am i right in thinking that in drag racing comps its slightly different? as in timed from wen lights go green so basically whoever crosses line first wins??
otherwise would be pointless running cars side by side and could just do timed runs to decide winner??
im prob comp wrong on this thou.
Welded the chassis leg back up again and had another crack at beating my time. Managed 15 runs today, slowest was 14.7. Beat my time marginally but terminal was slower.

It makes no odds if you take 25 secs or 8 secs, as long as your doing or close to the time you said your the winner.
There was a yank meet at York when we were yesterday and the final was a Dodge Ram Vs 10 Camero iirc, some proper fast stuff had been knocked out already.
