t`s novat turbo build new one

monday gotta clear head so am ready for the car today no matter what troubles we got i was getting this done we sat there looking a it a found the back gearbox mount the bit where the gearlinkage goes kept hitting the steering rack as we were all a little bit peed off after a few more attempts when we took the engine back out i smashed it off just so i could get it too sit right in the end still nothing so had a brake for a bit then had another go still no joy plus scrathed all the engine bay up now thats when i just lost all heart the took the engine back out and called it a day well had enough really

the engine kept going at an angle was getting well frustrated

have you got to trim some off the inner lip for the gearbox to clear

You don't need to trim anything of the gear box, can't see why your having probs with the rear mount either, mine clears the rack by about 10 - 12 mm.
What front mount are you using ?
When i done mine i just lifted it into position and bolted the front engine mount on, stuck a jack under the front of the gearbox so the engine sat level then jacked the back of the gearbox up so the mount lined up, easier to get it in position first then bolt the mount on.

Mine clears the inner wing by a good 15mm

another update thought i might aswell get a propper flywheel its been refaced lightend and balanced got it off martin from m&d developments top bloke and very helpfull

That rear mount doesn't look like a Nova one for a start as its got the three bolt holes in, Nova one only has two.

thats the only one i have got in my garage i need a new one anyway as smashed the top of it off

i thought there was some thing wrong with that mount and a nova only has 2 holes and you need to cut a little bit away to fit the 3 bolt through.

alot of people have said to use only two bolt holes

no you use 3 but i think the mount you are useing is the wrong 1. as in not nova

you sure have you got a pic of the nova one at all

the little silver bar at the top is were the 3 rd bolt would go through and sticks out the top of the mount were as your's dos'nt.

right aint done much really went out the weekend and well had too much to drink went and met some mates from my old work on friday dont remember coming home crashed out in the front room woke up later saturday and everything was a blur and me head felt like there was a brass band in there was ment to go out for my brothers birds birthday on saurday oh well thats drink for ya they was ok about it in the end any so i ant done much on the car as just buying bits and bobs bought a generator and my clutch and some polished bits so heres some pics should have some more progress at the weekend well i hope

spent some more money last week orderd my clutch which turned up pretty quick only two days just got to get a new turbo and make the exhaust up and get a after market management and i think thats the dear parts out the way

cheeky sod been busy this weekend had to work saturday and had a party so no work on the car this weekend plus just waiting for my rear gearbox bracket to turn up then its going in

aint really been doing anything on the car hadent even thought about it the car as going out and getting really drunk ment to be saving money oh well thats that thought about selling it really having a bad day the other day anyway had some bits turn up today which gave me a new sye of relief will get pics up later of my header tank i had got made well chuffed with it looks better than i thought might be starting it all over again with the shell as my mates just got a new garage so i can get it down there see what happens will keep you all informed

right aint done an update for a while had some probs with computer and stuff
well we finally got the doors on in the end as i lost interest in the car for a while now im back as christmas and the poxy freezing cold weather plus i got my header tank in the end and started wiring up the clifford alarm after a few hours i finally figured it out(i hope) was a pain as my mates kept slagging me off telling me i dont know what im doing ah mates always there to help ay well heres some pic plus my mates business is almost up and runing now few things to sort out then the novas going over to his workshop should be able to crack on with the car the will keep you all updated?
