Not by me ! All worn out parts in the engine bay are being replaced and engine stripped for oil leak and anything else that needs doing. A full 25 year service is being done.

Good progress! Is the driver door getting a new panel welded on the bottom? Is that rust treatment in the photos? I bet you are missing the car already :thumb:
Do the best with what we have. Panels will be welded on the door to sort out. There will be plenty of rust treatment of any areas that have not been cut out
You might want to read up on Mike Sander's Fett. This is a German cavity wax like product that has won a rigorous rust proofing test in a German oldtimer magazine several years ago.Quote:

I am well pleased with work. Correcting many years of wear and tear.
Stripping down has allowed better access for welding etc
10/10 for the bodyshop from me.
Unfortunately I could not see the engine bay today due to wet paint but I believe that is up to the same high standard.
Next stage will be grey paint (not vinyl) and the parts back on (including new gutter trims)
Possibly the bodyshop got hold of the last available new windscreen for this model
Looking good! Have you thought about the underside? It would be good if it was possibly stripped and re coated to make it last longer.

I got a new screen from a sr for £25 off a windscreen guy I know. Snapped it up lol.
We may go if he car mechanicals sorted on the Saturday. as a test drive.
I was going to call in briefly to the wirral version on 12/3/16 (but not in our nova)

Bumpers will be painted. Already done previously so no choice.
