Good work luke i for one cant wait to see it boosting:thumb:
as soon as ive got the charge cooler plumbing done tomorrow then there should be a big surge of work again as we've got everything for the engine and picking up the brakes so im guessing midweek it should be done
Awesome work lad thats mint, keep us informed wont you, please:thumb:
Well done luke, you're really cracking on with it. Mid week? go for it! :d
this thing is a bludy nightmare lol everything we try and do something has to be modified. anywhos some pics of how it is now
head on, torqued down and timed up :)

http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...o/S7303320.jpg
we then had to modify the front panel more to move the rads abit further forward. we also had to undo the back gearbox mount to get the turbo in
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...o/S7303321.jpg
with that in the actuator was pretty much in the rad still lol. so i had to "modify" the actuator bracket and it all "just" fits. can see the need for uprated engine mounts and an engine damper tho

coming on nice now pal, fair play to you with the work your doing to make it work spot on fella.
i just want to see a vid or two on its first start up run out:d

anywhos not exactly great pics but this is of the only wiring coming to the engine which will be hidden by the inlet manifold
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...o/S7303325.jpg
and this is where i placed the dash in to see where i had space for the ecu and map sensor and stuff
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...o/S7303326.jpg
nick also stripped out the back today as we found it had mk3 rear seats cable tied in!!!!!!!!

Love this, as it's bringing back memories, like i say my first car was pretty much the same as this (color/model wise)
Then my second car was a 8v cvh XR2i lol so unreliable it was...

now you might notice its a tad loud, this is where the fun began. started by checking all the exhaust studs, check turbo to manifold and downpipe bolts. try again and still the same, hmmmm confuzzled.
this is when we discover that the manifold is up against one of the bolts which bolts on the breather blanking plate  not good. to remove this bolt and insert a shallow head allen bolt we had to do the following
undo the drivers side mount
undo the rear gearbox bolts
lossen the front one
push the engine back slightly
undo the oil return hose
undo a water hose
undo all the exhaust studs and then with a tiny little 8mm spanner undo the fooking bolt
so then fit the little allen bolt and bolt everything back together and we have clearence on the bolt. must be ok now then :), start it up, still a tractor:confused: fook.
this is where i discover the manifold is up against a little sticky out bit on the block!!! bollocks, cue the above procedure to remove the turbo so i can get the grinder in to trim back the sticky outy bit. ground down all bolted up clearence on the block woop. try again deffinetly sorted now
http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...h_S7303333.jpg
ahhhhhh feck feck feck feck. now it clears the pissing block it is now up against the fooking allen bolt again!!!!!!! ****. time to scrap the crappy pissy blanking plate and get a core plug. that will be saved for tomorrow
end of the day tho she runs and sweetly to :) woop woop
