Keep up the good work :)
Awesomeness in 1, keep it up!
looks good now the kits off and theres some nice engine work going in there keep it up!!!
thanks for all the positive comments, means alot, especially when things go wrong, spurs me on lol! ok today spent timy pass side inner cv boot, as it was catching on the body, has any one had probs like this before? im using comp mounts, which are all in position correctly, and obviously f20 box with comp shafts and cvs? the way ive got round it is getting a cv boot that comes of flat instead of bulging out before it steps down (the bulge was causing the problem) just wondering if this has been seen before? cheers folks, sean
Very nice mate ! Gonna be an awesome car once the bodywork is all done, good luck with it all !
That engine bay is just sex! Looks like no expense spared on the spec. Top job :)
sorry for no updates for ages, just been real busy rying to get everything sorted for nurburgring. car now has pas, is worn in and ready for its full power tune next week, cant wait to see what its making! gotta go to hispec on thursday to get my custom caliper brackets made up and fitted, and the cars also wet flatted ready to be sprayed gloss black (just a quick easy colour for now so its all the same colour, then when nurburgs out the way, save up and send it in to the body shop for a full in and out prep and spray), will get some pics up next few days when i finish nights
ok, started painting it the weekend, its only aout of rattle cans, but i think ive done a decent job, its only so its all one colour for now while im saving funds to send it in proper to the body shop. also fitted corsa b pas (go on call me a pussy lol) and its goin in thursday to have its first power run as ive done 500 mile on the engine!

Looks good fella! Hope the rr goes good! What power you hoping for??
Between 230 and 250

But in all seriousness looks like you done a good job with those cans
and it does make sense, roughly how many cans did it take you to do the whole car?
18 cans matey, I've got an account at maccess, the paint was only 1.30 a can trade lol!
well thats cheap enough then dude!! and hoep you get what you want on the rollers!!
Well tomorrows the big day finally! There rollin road is finally sorted and I'm booked on for the morning to get it mapped and power tested. Ohh the tension lol
nioce. cant wait to see what the POWAH! out put is. Should be good.!
Good luck dude, im gessing it will be 196bhp?
Lol whatever Scott
Cant see why not dude, it's got all the right bits, an it's better spec then mine or Ol H's old one.
Add 25 30 bhp then you will be about right :)
I would Of Thought It Will Make Around 220 At The Fly Depending On The Cams Used, Did You Get The Over Heating Problem Sorted? If So What Was It.
244 @ 7480! Get in! And the rollers were only calibrated Monday! Might get a bit more when cams get dialled in :)
Just re-read this thread from the start, youve done a sterling job bud and really really impressed with your result on the rollers aswell, even the temp painjob looks good, i hope youre going to ditch the smoothed boot though as that and the bike sized plate let it down imo, but only a little niggle on an otherwise awesome car:thumb:
Thanks spudly that means alot mate, tbh I have thought about going back to a normal tailgate but that'll be when it's ready for proper paint :)
So what the exact spec of this engine, as thats massive power, and i know of other members with over £4000 on internal mods to there XE's that dont make that, thats why i gave a guess of 196 as that about right for a cammed TB xe, the cam must be mental if it's 100% spot on?
Scott
Certainly attainable with a proper lairy cam set. QED's Q450 kit can make this power if set up right, but you do need seriously evil valve springs and solid lifters.Quote:

The dyno is bang on, plus sbd 'guessed' it would make about 240, so were not far off, this isn't just your average camd up bolt on build, and once I go for solid lifters and sbd300 cams plus dry sump, I'll be looking for 300 ;)
You obviously have the wallet for it, so fair play, but bear in mind thats going to be a very stressed engine. The cav supertourers used to run 300bhp XE's and they eventually dropped back to 250 as they needed rebuilding so much lolQuote:

Mines "your average bolt on job" lol as im tight and have been skint for the last part of last year.
Fair play to you if you go 300bhp+ as Lee said though more chance of it popping, and you can ask him about that one...
Thats another reason why i dont want to spend loads and loads internally, as if it does go bang then it's harder to build it back up (if your not rolling in it) where as buying and XE and a basic rebuild can be done for under £500.
Scott
tbh honest matey i agree it is probably too much, but ive made a bet with steve and craig at sbd that ill get it more powerful than the westfield on their homepage lol. seriously though, this is NOT an every day car, so it can afford to be a bit close to the edge, but at the same time i dont wanna be rebuilding it all the time, hence going for the strengthend bottom end. ill see how happy i am with it at this, but ill definetly be dry sumping it, and the cams........ mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmlolQuote:

OK! At least you have it sorted do you know what the torque figure is, similar spec motor to mine yours makes slightly more power........ At the moment.
