Very nice Martin..... a great result on the dyno. :)
Martin, well done on the dyno - what spec are the cams?
If they are mild - and you managed 230?? Thats not bad at all!!
Mine are reasonably 'not mild' and I am pushing not a great deal more than you - although I wasnt on a dyno....
Dude, engine looks nice, liking the red block, nice clean freash silver gear box too.
To be honest i cant remember.Quote:

Dont suppose you know what coil pack i need?
Dont know if i can use a Vauxhall one, if so from what or do i just order one from SBD?
very nice build , cant get over the fact i misst this thread
keep up the good work
thanks kev
^^^they're the babies!!!! Good work dude...
are they jenvey/sbd?
you can use one from a ecotec engine but it has to be from the 2.0l, dont use a 1.4/1.6 etc one as i know on the mbe management they burn out your ecu ignition amplifier, may be ok with other brands but not sureQuote:

Doesn't it depend if the coilpack is amped or not as if they aren't amped the ECU has to do all the work?
I've got a 1.6 16v one here that looks like it is amped - surely thats better?
1.8/2.0 veccy coil packs will be fine. mates use them on there xe'd rallycars
do you run the mbe management?Quote:

so id check and make sure yours is amped will as it could be costly having to buy a new ecu
matt
They are Jenvey.Quote:

Thanks for the info on coil packs. Think to be safe i will just order the one from the SBD site.
Cheers
Martin
I'm not running mbe no. Not running anything at the mo! lol Was just what I'd read thats all, which made sense as an amped coil saves the ecu having to do it which means the ecu won't get as hot!
Martin, have you got any decent close up pics of how the linkage attaches please? My R1s are linked up like those bodies but are set up so the cable sticks up between the bodies rather than in from the side and I'd be intrigued to see if it would be easily adapted to my setup.
Not at the moment.Quote:

Hopefully getting car back, i'am thinking maybe Tuesday then those bodies are coming of so i can take some snaps for you then.

Cheers.
Car is finally home & this is where the work now begins!
First job was to remove the incorrect throttle bodies. New ones are 'apparently' on order.
Really didnt want to be messing doing this after it was all set up on dyno, but never saw the engine before it went to dyno or could have sorted this out before.
Here are some pics of the wrong bodies now there removed.

Engine builder needs to sell these as Jenvey wouldnt swap them because they have been dyno'd & now '2nd hand'!!
Anybody interested drop me a pm.
Martin
Not read all the thread sorry, but whats "wrong" with them??
I wanted the individual bodies like the 'SBD' kit not twin bodies like above.
Performance wise there is nothing wrong with them.
Just me being fussy really!
But when i'am spending a few grand i want what i asked for!
Martin
Ahh, you wanted individual taper bodies, and got parallel bodies...
Hmm, pm on the way
You fussy tart :)
Stu forwarded the pics you sent him, they look really but were they actually touching the bulk head?
awsome car, would be real intrested in what you have inside ur engine as pistons & cams are next on my list, if i can expect those sort of figures im a happy chappy :)
I agree, I would go for 'tapered' kit over a parallel set-up any day. Not too sure on performance benefits, but my old SBD TP164 kit was Superb!!!!
