I took out my insurance with Sky about 2 weeks ago after speaking to Ollie.

They beat my HIC quote and the service was spot on!

its a shame you dont cover my area. I need my isnurance this month but you say you dont cover preston. Im actually in leyland...about 8 miles from Preston. PR25 post code though.

I am now a sky customer on my cavalier, beat what i was paying last year by a few hundred £££'s with all mods declared (and there are a few lol)

Cheers ollie, and tell luke cheers, very helpful chap and better to talk to than anyone ive ever dealt with from any other insurance co, ill definately be going with you guys with my nova aswell when its back on the road next year:thumb:

I do, but I use mine over winter, albeit not as much. Its a second car to me, so does minimal mileage.

I've kept your quote reference for that reason. I've heard a few bad things about elephant but had no problems with admiral who have been very helpful, so it'll be down to price between the two of you :).

Well Sky's come up trumps again!

So my Passat is due to re start in October, It's with Flux, last year it was £320 FC this years renewal came in the post and is £475! WTF lol

so after a quick Internet comparison site i found a quote of £290, rang Sky and got it for £280FC so i have my XE with them and my daily Passat now, but the 1.2L is with Flux as no one could beat there £240FC on it.

wouldnt insure me on a nova rang them and the guy asked me what car i wanted to insure, told him a nova didnt even say what spec or engine size and they said they wouldnt insure me

I'm pretty sure you gave more details than that for them to refuse! Even when they refused me they went through a fair few details to make sure first, I'm guessing you haven't held your license for over 2 years?

the "main man" dosent really exist as the orignal owner sold the site to a company who now dont seem to care about the site (ie some moderators but no admin staff to do any work like ins discounts). Plus they have some sort of deal with CK, but I've never got a straight answer as to who is still getting the comission etc lol. Its all a farse in taht respect but the members are keen for good prices so it gets you business I guess :)

Its very hard to say, your details will need to be taken in full and and run through the computer system. Almost every question you are asked at the quotation stage can make a difference to the price.

29, 4 years ncb,clean license, homeowner,employed,etc. wanting to insure a standard nova gte in "WA9" adrian flux(highway ins)(who i have been with since i passed my test in 2003)quote me(as its been off the road for a while) £395 f/c,
a quick search on go-compare brings up "the green ins company" @ $443 f/c with details given above?
looking to insure this as a second car(weekend car say,as im currently insured on a van for work purposes)or possisbly a quote to insure both @ once (dont know if that works)?

Edit: should be a member "again" soon enough(if it helps Lol)

i have a xe nova that i only use 6 months of the year, the other 6 months during winter it sits in the garage, if i insure this with you is there any sort of reduced rate for the 6 months that it is in the garage over winter?

Now Fred, If sky wont do the above adrian flux will. As your garage is on your property they do whats called a "laid up policy" which you can transfer to from your main policy once the car comes off the road. This drastically reduces the cost for 6 months of the year. But is only available to those who have garages at home not elsewhere.

i have the laid up policy. They said it was fine that my car was garaged away from my home, although i now feel like ringing them to check. Guy seemed fairly sure though.

23, 4 Years NCB, Nova P1 LET, Caged, 5k value, £180 per year.

Hi,

as it stands we do not offer 'laid up' cover but if you took a fully comprehensive policy, we could move this down to TPFT for the time the car is kept in the garage.

Flux said they wouldn't do laid up cover for me if the car wasn't garaged at my house as I tried to do it while I was rebuilding it. I'd get checking Gareth.
