I think if you look at the Chris Astley advert in TV he has a special offer on a complete XE kit (shaft's/hubs/mounts etc) which is cheap.
Also have you thought about a plating kit and uprated mounts

I have thought about strengthening plates and uprated mounts but I want this to be my daily runner over the summer at least, maybe longer. So thought It might be a bit unforgiving for road use, am I right or wrong?! I suppose the strengthening kit deffinatly isnt gonna do any harm. Just gonna check out chris astley advert in TV now.

The plating kit will keep the car together for longer, and will be fine for a daily, but the mounts might be a bit much...well worth a plating kit imo..

I started on the bulkhead, I couldnt find much in way of info on where to weld other then 'Along EVERY seam'. So I just went for it, Only got a few areas left, about another 2 hours work. Loads of seam selent on there and a good job too coz theres not alot of rust, as you see. Still havent got the fookin steering rack out :mad:. My theory is the bolt has snapped but is still in the cut out on the shaft, hence why I cant just pull it out. :tard:

A few questions:
Do i, go and rent a welder (?50 a day + some hefty deposit no doubt)?
Wait for a friend to find time and come round with his arc welder?
