Thanks for all the kind comments :) , with a small windfall coming my way within the next five days the trackdays will be booked soon i hope which will only leave some tyre softener needed to freshen up my inters (possibly). Maybe this is the year it will let me down at some point as its long long overdue lol lol lol lol
Only if you run out of Pixie dust mate, which i doubt. And not much can go wrong bar the engine can it, and thats now fresher than a pair of balls after a bath!

when you built this car did you have problem with fitting the alternator:confused:
Non at all jedi, we built the actual engine back in 2000, and i used the correct alternator lowered mount due to the forties and butchered my own elongated adjuster bar to allow it to sit back more when adjusted.
You need a lowering mount mate, simple as that.Quote:

Many would say it would be far to heavy but i prefer my steering like that and i wont be changing the steering wheel like i had originally planned, it completes the package even more so when coupled to the rack, the feedback is awesome.
I took it steady for a few miles and ripped it a new one after 10 miles or so once everything had warmed up and nothing essential fell off, pulled like a trooper for what it is and cleanly from 1k right through to the limiter without backing off at all.
I have noticed a new rattle appear though since i made my engine mounts almost solid but that is easily fixed so all in all that tiny negative compared to everything else i have ripped apart and rebuilt i am one happy bunny and after its first maiden voyage of 2007 its ready for a proper raping on track :D

as missus is away with the kids i though i would start my first day of peace in typical man luxury. So i got a spare sheet from the bedroom my inters from the hallway and a rasp.
Thanks to dar and abit of info i had decided that my inters were looking very sorry for themselves and were in need of some tlc. I spread the sheet around the floor and started to grind them down a touch with a rasp removing all the dead crap off and gently exposing the good rubber under the dead stuff that had hardened and formed.
Here are the results, due to the state of my lounge currently i grabbed my phone and took the pics in the hall but i think you'll agree they have come out ok

I shal give them good scrub in to even the treads out again but the results seem positive, and even if they are a touch off now i can easily apply some softener to them now they are smooth again :thumb:
