im not having a go at your compitance. im just trying to make the point that there is no point learning on an expensive car. it is one think to say you can polish a car, using an orbital buff is a differant kettle of fish. if you use the wrong grade polish or head you could end up making the car shine less than present or worse burn/buff the top coat completely off.

the detailing write ups make it look easy, which is a dangerous thing.

Get the underside properly jetwashed, thats where all the salt will be hiding!

yes i know this thats why for a start im going to get a DA as they are alot less harsh as the orbitals. plus ive got plenty of cars to practice polishing on first before i go at it. for now it will just get a funking good wash, inside and out and underneith and everywhere. poor thing having to go out in the wet :(

i wouldnt waste your money on a DA. a DAwill be more harsh than an orbital with proper polish (proper as in polish you cant get in halfords) a DA cant polish harsher grade polish. your as well geting an orbital handy tool to have if you can spray too.

best idea is to get an orbital and an old bonnet then work your way up to the db9. thing is its so easy to hit a crease or edge where the paint is thin and take the paint completely off. screw that on a db9.

im fully aware of how careful you have to be near edges and according to purebliss the d/a is less harsh actually. hence why i said it

it is with low grade polish. a da does not spin fast enough to break down some polishes thus not polishing and putting loads of scores in the paint. hence why i said polish you dont get in halfords.

ahh i get what you mean now. i would like to think it doesnt need such harsh polishes tho. the most it should need to get out is swirl marks and for that id rather take longer with a mild polish

i can understand your willing to wash the car for her luke,which i would do myself for the missus.
But if she can afford to own top of the range bmw's and astons,then surley she can afford a decent car "hand" wash and valet imo!?

course she can but i wanna do it. i like cleaning cars so being able to clean such a gorgeous car like that i will really enjoy. sad i know

I mega enjoyed cleaning a rusty Vauxhall today, it's not sad at all i love it
