took me ages lol, had to scan in a a3 picture of a nova onto an a4 printer, merge them together and then change colour etc and skew wheels.. takes about 3 hours per car.. thats why i stopped doing them because my gcse revision was more important.. and still is
next week im off school.. so we are replcing the handbreak cable and rear break shoes :thumb:
Can't wait to see ours side by side at PV hopefully :)
aye mee too... cant wait!
anyway today started by fitting my alloy fuel cap:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00641.jpg
didnt like the colour, so took it off, hopefully gettign one that sits abit more flush with the body tomorrow :thumb:, them will spray rover hurricane gey and see about that
anyway, thought id refurd by anti-roll bar today
as it was:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00642.jpg
quick wire brush down and a little help from a burntout picasso, it ended up like this:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00644.jpg
first coat (still wet)
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00645.jpg
then thoughd id wire brush and spray the clamps too
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00647.jpg
once the coat had dried:
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00648.jpg
its stonechip paint, dried within about 2 mins.. but thought id leave it overnight just to be sure lol :thumb:
Will improve the handling mate - You should get a rear one as well :)
managed to remove 99% of the overspray today from the engine bay, took me ages!
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00649.jpg
Keep it up Dave - Can't wait to see it at PVS :)
i know me neither vaughn, still afew jobs that need doing like:
handbreak cable
rear break shoes
digi dash speeds calculating
steering wheel straightening
new wiper blades
stereo wiring up to the auxillery (sp) as its currently on the ignition
gte rear doorcard clip to find
still abit to do, but should be sorted by saturday :thumb:
hopefulyl we get ours next to each other lol
would like to know how this is done becuase we tried for hours and the plug for the auxillery just seems dead all the timeQuote:

because it will drain my battery, well probabley run a wire from a live off through the auxillory and to the streo, create a whole new live wire :thumb:
looking good dave. might have a drive up before pv if i get mine insured in time, needs a good long distance test run to make sure its ok.
yeah mate your more than welcome, yours was from round my way anyway lol, just elt us know when your going to come up

took off my offside rear drum today to find soe nearly new break shoes, some nearley new bearings and a nearly new piston, great, but the handbreak cable was very abdley worn, but to my luck, i ahd a unknown cable in the car when i bought it, i thought id keep it as it was brand new and might come in handy, law and behold, the offside handbreak cable, big big bonus :thumb:
on it went
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00686.jpg
put it back togeather, lock nut tight them cracked off abit, wheel on, quick slin with hands, not a sound, no rubing or anythign, great
then we tackeld, the nearside, were we coul hear some rubbing.. we diagnosed the problem quickly, leaky and siezed piston, when we were applying the foot break it wasnt retracting properly, therefor wedgeing itself open and rubbing ths break shoes down, not good, hopefully order a new one first thing tomorrow morning and have it late aftenoon
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00685.jpg
the big cylinder shape thign lol
anyway, them we fitted the front ARB
http://i61.photobucket.com/albums/h8...m/DSC00687.jpg
all in all a great day, gt rid of all the s*hit out the rear drums, re-greased, the nearside handbreak cable want all that old, so we left that, all we need to do is fit the new psiton and bleed the breaks, jobs a goodun
:thumb:
good stuff
Good progress there Dave - You sourced a rear ARB yet ?
Good mincing.
When you tightened the rear hub bolt, did you use the haynes guidelines? making sure the washer behind the nut can still move?
isnt it do it tight then back it off 1/4 of a turnQuote:
