I have found there flame Red spray is rather pale, suffice to say I tried some other stuff since. I hate using aerosols though tbh.
Short progress last night though, put the fr struts back on & attempted to drop in the drivers side shaft & put on the fr caliper etc for the last time. The outer CV joint is the wrong type.... I bought all 4 new ones about 6 months ago. So not looking forward to the grovelling at the motor factors.
So called it a night.
Suffice to say they wouldnt take it back despite supplying odd CV joints. I had to buy another at a slightly discounted price.
So there is a brand new 22 spline outer CV joint for sale.........
did your V6 calipers fit straight on or do you need some adapters??

Bolt straight onto std hubs. The discs are re-drilled to 4 stud with alloy spigott rings to centre the discs (from Chris Astley). You can use FIAT 20v coupe discs if not confident in re-drilling the 288 Vectra ones.

Thanks chaps. re the front end.... Aye; considering she's filthy, grille isnt clipped in & headlamps could be levelled & fettled.
Bank Holiday Progress; PAS pipes now run through the bulkhead, brake T-pieces are drilled & mounted. Fr brake lines run out to either caliper & flexis all bolted/clipped in.
Both fr driveshafts are finally fitted into place, all bolts on fr end are torqued up (TCA's, tie bars, strut bolts etc) just leaves the hub nuts to be torqued & split pinned. (need socket)
Had a go at setting the gear linkage yesterday, but I cant seem to get it quite right. Will resort to the drill bit method through the turret I think. Never had to do it like that before.
Just waiting to get paid on 26th & will buy a battery, get the terminals crimped onto battery cables, make up some earths & buy some fuel...... main thing missing from the engine is the alternator adjuster.
