Greame-cheers for the offer mate, might as well have Ricks off him when i pick the suspension up.... :)
Had another half a day today.
Full loom is now out, heater blower/wiper motor/carpet/rear lights/wipers all out. Rear braided brake lines removed, Clifford alarm/CL/Elec window looms removed

My half arsed attempt at removing the sound deadening last year! lol

Gave the Astra quick clean too, cleans up quite well. Have a few plans for it, some lowerage, do the wheels black, paint the grill V-trim black, gsi rear spoiler etc. And another drivers door if i can find one the right colour. :)

Just the fuel tank/lines, front/rear suspension, glass to go :)
Will probably leave the boot fitted. Want the shell gone this week/next weekend hopefully.
How are the window surrounds held on? Do the window rubbers hold them?
Yep just the seal that holds them in.Quote:

Hope your not leaving the door cappings
Will have a crack at removing the surrounds/windows tomorrow after work then.
The door cappings are staying with me :D
Hope you're not leaving the badass chrome handbrake cover.
I'll have you know thats a £30 Richbrook handbrake handle! lol
And yes i'll already removed it.
what are the gutter covers like bud ?.
As im after a passenger side one.
I think the very end bit is broke/missing mate, will check laters
The end is broke mate, so not really worth removing tbh.
Couldnt be arsed do much on it today, bit of a late one last night, and then work this morning....
Went round Johns and stuck my sr seats in his shell, to shift them out my way. Good to see the floorpan etc etc properly mint on Johns shell too, its in 3 times the condition mine was
Then did some Astra pimping, got the boost controller fitted
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v8...1319Medium.jpg
Noticed a bit of oil in the boost pipes too, so the turbo has seen better days, but still boosts fine, so Meh

Pikey fitted lol

Off for a play with that in a bit, ive not turned the fuelling up yet though, should that be done before or after upping the boost?
Such a chav, thats something Iain would have on his motor. :roll:Quote:

max fuel, lol
for your boost levels i would not even turn it a quarter lol
Im turning it 90deg clockwise iirc.
going for around 18psi then ? lol
Can't the white ring mod be done?
(baxter, you have pm)
Wipped the fuel pump diaphram thing off earlier to do the white ring mod, but the white ring is quite tough and the only stanley knife i had wouldnt touch it! lol
So i just put it back together. Is that mod 100% neccessary???
Ive just turned the fuel screw 90deg clockwise, and went for a drive and its now holding a Bar boost from about 2300rpm to about 5k
And is now much nippier to drive! Especially in 3rd gear.
Thats with the boost controller wound fully out(min boost), tried upping it more but it then wouldnt go above standard 9psi, maybe the safety valve thing in the lower inlet???
So wound the controller back to fully out and its now holding a bar again, so i think i'll settle at that.
Going bin the standard intake pipework/airbox asap, and get a decent IC on there, at the minute if you hold it on full boost for a bit(on motorway etc) the coolant temp starts rising quite quickly lol
Drops straight away if you back off for a bit.
diesels gunna get ya lol
Lol go for it ad! Have combo inlet and gasket, as well as i/c here if needed.
I've heard the white ring mod makes a big difference to the diaphragm
Will have a gander next time im over mate!!!
I will be able bin the white ring thingy if i swap the inlet, as you can remove the pump plunger completely, and then slide the ring off instead of trying cut it whilsts sticking your arm down behind the inlet lol
Sounds like a good excuse for a new inlet!Quote:

Cant wait to f**k it off tbh! Sick of the sight of it sitting there. I really dont know how people spend years building a car/looking at a shell, id want it done asap.
Hopefully new shell will be sorted and running for Spring action day at Combe in April :)
Thats my deadline, and only having weekends to work on it doesnt help....
At least the nights are getting lighter
Aye ad im the same, mine still looks like a car but im dieing to have it finished, i think i would kick myself if it was a bare shell for months.
Ada, is the silver handbreak cover on the nova been taken off yet? could be interested lol
Ad the new nova plans sound all good, cant wait to see it taking place!
As for the astra, fair play! i would love to fiddle with the passats boost, would be fun, always wanted to know if i could up the boost on it.
Scott
Dave, yes ive took it off. What you offering? Dont know whether keep it or not.
Cheers Scott :)
Aye, the astra shifts now. 16psi boost in 4th/5th makes it a piece of piss to overtake on dual carriageway/motorway too ;)
VAG TDI's usually respond well to a remap, being ecu controlled you cant just simply turn a screw to up the fuel/boost like you can on these old mechanical Izuzus :)
ive had my bare shell 3 years now :(Quote:
