Mine was 'done' in July 2007, when it was MOT'd, I broke it in January 2009, after 16 trackdays, 3 sprints and TOTB

The saloon went to a guy in ireland and wtf is dutch rudder??
Anyway here's an update of what i've been up to over the last couple of evenings as thats what this is supposed to be about lol
I got the drivers door all primed up
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted070.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted071.jpg
Then while that was drying i decided to try fitting the rear bumper with some bonnet pins before i paint it black
Bonnet pins
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted073.jpg
This is the bumper iron up against the rear bumper showing how much i cut it down
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted072.jpg
i whipped these out and cleaned them up a bit then fitted them to the car
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted074.jpg
I removed this bracket from the bumper iron as i'm going to use it to mount the bonnet pins
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted075.jpg
Then using the holes in the bumper iron that the brackets were mounted through i drilled the bumper
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted077.jpg
Trial fitted
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted080.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted079.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted081.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted083.jpg
And complete
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted085.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted086.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted087.jpg
I then proceeded to rub down the high build primer on the N/S door
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted090.jpg
Wiped it all down and shot it in the green, then hung it out to dry
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted091.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted092.jpg
And moved on to the second door, all rubbed down and cleaned off ready to paint
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted093.jpg
This was the point were disaster struck i w a n k e d the first coat on like a cu nt and it ran like forest gump (i think i mixed in a little too much thinners what a c ock) so that will need addressing tomorrow
T oss
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted094.jpg
So given that the drivers door now didn't need another two coats as it was funked i decided to fit the passengers door rubber
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted095.jpg
And refitted the door
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted096.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted097.jpg
It nearly looks like a nova again - woop woop
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted098.jpg
Thanks you :thumb:
cracking on with the progress like normal :thumb:
bet you can see the track insight already :)
I can see it but there is still loads to do :roll:Quote:

Looks great dude! Is that the bonnet resting on top of the raised turrets?
Hello every one what a busy weekend its been....
I started by amending the paint on the door issue by sanding it all back
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted099.jpg
And painting it up - much better now
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted100.jpg
hanging out to dry
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted105.jpg
I moved swiftly on to the wings i fitted the head lights to check the fit of the wings on the car
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted103.jpg
Th wings needed some sanding back, and a little filling
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted102.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted104.jpg
and some more sanding
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted107.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted108.jpg
A good wipe down
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted109.jpg
then primer
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted110.jpg
Sanded the primer back using 150 grit (as it was high build and it went on heavy with some runs, bugs and general sh1te in it) then 320 grit to finish it
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted111.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted112.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted113.jpg
and painted
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted114.jpg
Leaving the wings to dry i moved on to some head scratching, measuring and lining out in the roof area
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted116.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted119.jpg
can you guess what it is?....after masking up there was you guessed it some more sanding
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted121.jpg
Then some colour
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted123.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted126.jpg
Its come out well but its not finished - i have the smaller lines in the middle to do yet, thought it would be some thing a little different
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted130.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted131.jpg
While the roof was drying i fitted one of the back windows, dam their lite!
I also wanted to ask what rubbers/technique do people use to fit the front sliders??
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted129.jpg
And cut some triangles in the front bumper
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted127.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted128.jpg
Along with lightening one of the door handles prior to priming
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted132.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted133.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted134.jpg
And to finish a couple of pics with the front wings balanced on
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted135.jpg
http://i248.photobucket.com/albums/g...painted136.jpg
Thank you
Awesome work, i wouldnt sand primer back with anything more than 320 tho.
Love the handles! Roof looks cool as, but looks to far forward...?
:)
The bonnet is sitting on some card board and a massive sheet of tarpaulin so its higher than it would be just sitting on the turrets :thumb:Quote:

lol ok dude, but you might find you'll see some sanding marks thru the paint even after a 320. 800 will get runs out.. and cool cool. Do love the car.
Top stuff! Looks funking ace!
Thanks again chaps :thumb:
Looking good james, the arches look mental!
Cool cool cool....
starting to come together nicely now.
