sounds and looks great, i bet you cant wait to have it finished and OTR?
No I can't wait now.
daft question but have you built the engine aiming for a specific power or you just built it for drivability/reliability in mind?
When I first did all the modifications bar the turbo I knew the power was held back from the small turbo, I aim for a around 150bhp, may seem high but can still do things to increase the power. I understand that having such a large turbo may course me issues but I just hope it performs okay and the turbo does actually spool properly. Fingers crossed!
fingers crossed for you buddy :thumb:
whens your next meet dan?
Well I fitted the radiator, alternator, loom and piping today.
I will just run it on water first to flush the system and check for leak and when I am happy I will bleach the header tank again and put some antifreeze in her :)

Needs a couple of pipes tieing up, a running fault sorting (sounds like an air leak in the fuel system) Gear linkage fitting, drive shafts, gear oil, and a few bits then the bay is done :)
Dan
Very cool!!!!!!!
Well I had an issue with the one of the old shafts, it was out of line from being welded (sleeve wasn't tight enough) so I got the local engineer to machine me a new sleeve and some shafts and I welded them together making sure it was nice and true this time.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...10871527_n.jpg
No rips, no burns, all trim intact and have only covered 22k, I would say the rears have never been used looking at them. Just need the door cards now :)
Dan
Would those seats be anything to do with our fone call mr ball?
No, I have another set in worse condition that I want you to cut up. These ones are my minters!
Well today I fitted the OS brake disc and caliper,
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.n...11741347_n.jpg
No pads fitted as I haven't got any yet :(
I made a front pipe which slots over the down/up pipe and joins the ashley system in nicely.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...66411733_n.jpg
I removed the standard rolled tip and made this out of come scrap from work,
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...66277612_n.jpg
Helps to keep the standard look in my opinion,

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...40367070_n.jpg
I need a two and a half clamp and a two and a quarter clamp now and a couple of rubbers then that's done.
While the back end was up I also set the hand brake up. Works a treat now :)
Getting there as they say!
Dan

I really need to pull my finger out and un-ruin your door cards don't I lol
Today I fitted a new fuel filter, she now runs well :)

Played around with some electrics today, started by making a mini loom for the amp and radio.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.n...11765215_n.jpg
Sounds well, overall very happy with the results.
I then fitted the electric window loom, works and looks nice and neat so another bonus.
Next job, fit the dash and the complex alarm and central locking system. No so fun!
Dan
cracking stuff keep it up
The rears seats look minted mate, and I like the little boost gauge looks pretty factory mate
Iain
I like the route your going with this dude, its a good job you have done all round, as first time i saw you in it at PV few years back now, i think i said to you, about how you would need to do some serious work in the bay and on front end at some point, lol you could see it was getting rotten! but you have saved it well, and done a dam good job, im liking the idea of ice coming back around, think i might have to an install into the Loon..
Thank you, I will be trying!
The seats are as close to perfect as I will find. Very happy with them, thank you. Made the gauge a year or so ago now. I love how standard it looks too!
Yeah, tbh the car had had it. Good job a like a good challenge. I wanted the addittional loom to be standard looking that's why I did it like that. You can't see it which is the main thing, Thank you any way!
Dan
Well I have now fitted my Remote Central locking and alarm, wasn't to bad to do with the dash out either.
Was extremly pleased to find that the new door solenoids bolt up in exactly the same place as the old Novas so all I need to do was fit the new solenoids on my brackets with my rods!!
https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...88795581_n.jpg
Not the best picture but you can still just see the new solenoid.
Wiring looks pretty tidy and all the controllers are hidden away nicely.
All I need to do now is fit the siren some where, not sure where though and wire in the hazards to the alarm.
Jobs a good one!
Dan
Any more progress mate
Not atm mate, shall hopefully be some tomorrow though :)
I spent a few hours removing the black paint off the dash and fitting it. It was a bit tight fitting it with all the added looms and alarms etc but we got there in the end!
https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...91594284_n.jpg
Dan
I started today by fitting the exhaust with new hangers and clamps. No photos though but fits well and looks 'sleeper'
After that I fitted the new ignition switch, stalks and cowling around the column.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...22291552_n.jpg
Then I fitted my amazing value aerial :)
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...57863736_n.jpg
Picks just about every radio station up.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.n...74513804_n.jpg
The starter has been temperamental recently and today it gave up on me, I tested it and found the motor to be at fault, after stripping it I found this.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.n...67024328_n.jpg
The brushes were full of rubbish as were the armature so I cleaned it up with sand paper and thinners regreased and reassembled. Works a treat now, just need to fit it :)
After that I fitted the N/S driveshaft and the brakes, then bleed.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-e-a.akamaihd.n...48274366_n.jpg

There you go!
Well I have been and bought some goodies. Photos to come,
Mint Gutter trims,
Mints grey interior trim, door pockets, door handles, kick panels, sill covers, Dash and glove box, under trays.
Black plastic seat runner covers,
Standard rear springs,
Side repeaters,
Sun visors and maybe more,
Gear gaitor and knob!
I removed all the items from a near perfect 33k miami blue spin, all I need now is to source a grey centre console.and I have everything I need to make my Nova's interior shine like a new one.
I will also be having a mass clear out as I now have a lot of un wanted interior bits. Still a few Gsi bits. Its all going on the bay except a couple of things and if it don't sell in the skip!
That's it though for today.
halfords allso sell those aerials,
i've used them on nova's before but fitted them behind the dash
above the glove box on the mk2 dash, works spot on as well
great work as usual dan
