I too had a stat-less mocal jobbie, which obviously helps things keep cool at all times, as it means the oil is flowing through the cooler, without having to get up to temperature :)

Ok, but shouldnt you want the oil up to temp to work best tho?
They arent cheap tho are they...Quote:

Is that your cheap or mine?
update update lol
i thought you'd of got a brand new one and polished it up haha
Even with a mocal and oil flowing through it from cold its not going to take long for it to heat up. Think how small the cooler is, its only there to take the edge of temps. Plus if you drive steady for the first part of your jouney which everyone should i cant see any probs.
I think the sandwich plate was about £50 and the cooler about £70 mate:thumb:Quote:

Cruzing on the motoway, water temp ok (fans works) oil pressure was ok.
Missed the road as the roads changed a bit since the google pic i used as a map was taken, which is when we started to smell antifreze and hot water, then the screen missed up and the pass mat for wet.
Pulled over to fine my header tank main hose had poped off and drain the tank. Bugger.
After pushing it back on and topping it up we followed Craig to his place, where it where it blew the pipe off again and dumped the water out again. Fit it again and it...
Passed!
Then blew it again. So this time i removed the wiper motor as the peiece of sh*t was right in the way and i thought might be pushing the tank out of place, looked ok.
Start on the drive home, (for peeps that know) got to tesco burseldon and it poped again. So when it to get some water and to see if they had a screw driver.
Not only did they have a screw driver.. The have a ratch driver set with 10 sockets and screw driver bits for £3.97... I mean really it was so cheap it was unreal!
Pick up some rain-x as well for £2 then 4lts of water and it was a total of £7 it was so cheap it was stupid. Fixed the car in the car park.
Justed on a sadly buzy motorway but found when booting it to get the boost up it would cut the boost off... Gay!
Dans thinks cause the engine was on evo5 chips the actuator has been wound right out, so the boost is getting cut cause i'm running the std ecu and chips.
So need to wind that in, and sort out the water pipe that keeps poping off.
Buts its motoed and drives ok.
Big big thanks to Craig (saloony)
Nice one mate! better to have the teething probs at this stage!

Wanted to get the gsi bumper on tho, so while letting it cool down to day between test drives i fitted it, then removed it for a lil trimming...

What i like is that you can only really see it when down low..

On the mouth onthe gsi theres a lip, i had to trim this back as it was touching.
