My heads been sleeved so it wont go on the water way, one reason i like it. But again using the right AF helps that not go anyway..

I'm not doing anything really special, PH2 and that's it so i don't think a Coscast will be needed or anything. The money will re cope for what i'm gonna be spending out.. and just got my insurance renewal too that's another 550 going out...

Ref the block decking and some of the comments. It was Browney who suggested I check the last engine I did which was the XE originally from my nova years ago. That had a fresh rebuild and done barely 4000 miles when it spun a bearing. When I got the head skimmed I took the block to be checked too and it wasn't true so it got a light skim.

Get them to check it while you're there Benn. Do it right, do it once as you say. Whats the price of checking/light skim compared to having to replace a headgasket down the line?

if you decide to run a cometic gasket you will need to skim block and head, if you just going to run stock let gasket then just give the head a light skim, id probs chuck a set of arp rod bolts in while your at it too

phase 2 aint exactly going to put massive amounts of strain on things so i wouldnt worry about splashing out big money on uprating everything

from what i've heard, a Coscast will hold more heat (dont ask me why, thats a story that goes overhere), and that the best head is a fixed KS.


benn... i have some HUGE news for you ;)

i picked up my new wheels for the mk1 astra yesterday, and the guy turned out the be a distribiter for Image wheels in his spare time.
he had a very nice set, 3 piece, with the bolts in the back (so no bolts are in sight)
afaik the can do that with any wheel the do, just ask for it.

so you get this look (he had these laying around, there porn)
