Yeah deffo.
I've heard the later coscast head is better on the let, no too sure though. Ask Rick as i think i read this on his build thread.
Thanks for half the info John..lol
No problem lol seriously i'd pm rick and just ask him for some advice before you sell it. I do seem to remember him swearing by the late coscast heads.Quote:

Simply put though, it's a superior casting process with tighter tolerances etc, so the heads are 'better' but they do not give 90bhp in combination with an ebay ECU chip. They don't crack like the GM heads are known for, which would be the reason GM outsourced their casting to cosworth in the first place I imagine and there shouldn't be any design/dimension differences afaik but this is purely based on what I was told about the process, I've never seen the 2 heads side by side.
theres a thread on vauxsport with the heads side by side for comparison
But bar the wont go pours that's really it.. Which the one i have has been sleeved for any way so.. Been checked and tested by V-turing.
I'll see what Rick says, but sure it will be fine.
Benn my lover, I'm in London friday. I'm happy to run down to you and pick up what bits you want going to an engineer up this way. Maybe PM Browney mate and see who he uses as he's always getting stuff like this done. We can then sort out meeting halfway or something to drop them off again??
The place I used near me done a good job last time but it was the 1st time I used him as the place I normally used changed hands. His prices were a bit dear I thought tho.
Offers there anyway dude.
It's not gonna explode, or drop your power considerably or anything like that, but the cosworth method of casting produces a more flawless, stronger, far more accurate head, it was specifically designed to do just that and remove some flaws from the standard casting process for racing purposes, and then patented and used to cash in from OEM applications (including jet engines lol) That's your advantage, besides the resistance to cracking (GM heads crack at a water way, or oil way I forget which, they don't go porous) whether or not you're gonna notice it is another thing...
I'm not saying they're the be all and end all, personally I'd probably take the £300 too, unless I was doing something that demanded a head with tolerances as tight as possible. Certainly wouldn't pay ebay prices for one lol
They don't seem to make as much on eBay anymore either hence my "rare" dispack Coscast still sitting in my garage!
