Think mine cost me about £100. I fitted it as I didn't want to be taking the head off again if the standard gasket wasn't up to it. Also my head had been skimmed a fair bit so I needed a thicker gasket.
I used a 3 mls head gasket of gaybay cost about 30 pound, along with deck & skim very light just so i had good mating surface, driven hard and always boosting hard, never had any problems.....
My head is unskimmed. I don't need a thicker gasket either.. After reading about the MLS ones i wouldn't use one, the blocking of water ways and the prone to rusting out is a no no to me. I wanna be able to fit it and then not look in it again for quite a while.
use a z20let gasket then ?
What the diff from a Clet and a Zlet one then?
if the correct amount of anti freeze is used then it shouldnt rust, anyone who has had that problem obviously doesnt look after there car properly in the first placeQuote:

Zlet and cometic are both metal. Zlet one is the one where the waterways don't line up and you have to drill rivets out I think, hence why I didn't bother.
To be honest Benn I would do the arp's and cometic gasket if I took mine out. It may mean another month or so due to cost but if you've got it out you may as well use the chance. Doesn't anyone on mig know someone round you to check the block?
