2 schools of thought....
1. 10.9 might be stronger than 8.8 but are more brittle... so as opposed to bending in an bump, they could shear...
2. pattern parts can sometimes be of iffy quality, and its been known for bolts to say 10.9 but not actually be anywhere near that strength

I would have thought its the bottom arm thats more likely to bend on a big impact rather than the ball joint bolts giving way, unless its had the strengthening plates welded in I guess.

I'm liking the old school tool set Rich, how old is it and where would something like that originate from?
-
Its a genuine Vauxhall toolkit, I have a Vauxhall accessories brochure somewhere with it in from the late 80's

Self employed now as a contractor, so on paper I don't earn enough :-) when I was a permanent employee at JLR, I was paying the same as the interest!? I don't think it's ever going to go away lol

These turned up today. Finally got my central locking clamps plus picked up 4 brand new snowplough screw covers.
They forgot to put one item in my parcel so now awaiting for that.

Yes Benn, they are. After all the horror stories I'd read, and hassle Iain had trying to fit some "other" eccentric mounts, I bit the bullet and bought the Gaz ones. I have some TAS mounts but I'll keep them for one of the other projects and fit them to the Spax RSX coilovers.
-
How much are the GAZ ones?
-
You'll have to call them, my mate sorted me out on the price of coilovers and mounts. I don't think I got them much cheaper than standard, as I have a feeling they're only buying and machining someone elses mounts, so not a massive margin.
I believe they're circa £100
Benn;
I've taken some pics of the mounts assembled, and the parts in order of assembley.

Food looks good! Which ones did you use in it? I can tell you what they are called if you describe it!
-
tried a bit of each mate (not the dried ones lol)
the longer thin ones are just plain hottttttttttttt
the smaller cherry sized ones seem sweet before the heat kicks in
and the larger ones are just right hot but have a really nice flavor to them

got new bike gloves come to day :)

i acquired a metal shedmaster shed about 5 years ago... with some minor damage & bits missing.. i finally got round to assembling it the other week......then put a list together & emailed the company for a quote on the parts....they asked for my postal address, and sent a set of roof ridge panels, 200 screws & washers & a corner bracket FOC....now thats customer service as it wasn't their fault & i did state that i was looking to buy the bits...
i cba to photograph them, as shed parts are more boring than most car bits lol lol
